Laughter

Another kiss of a sweet memory
Haunts me another night more
A time when joy came out of tragedy
And love's finger caught tightly in a closed door

Hurting, we would see one another face-to-face
When infatuation was a drug, comfort was our sacred space
Laughter was a pill to forget our pain
And soon a new, different love we had learned to gain

Nowadays it doesn't feel always the same
For silence and hiding became our little game
The memories of laughter, a mistake in vain
