~ Third person POV~
She tried to stand back up but it took too much energy out of her and she collapsed. Due to the blood loss, she also started seeing dots and had trouble breathing, which caused her to black out.
The people who witnessed this were horrified, but however much they wanted to, they couldn't help.
They had to fight the things in front of them and save their own lives.
Then suddenly, there was this weird moment where it felt like time had stopped completely.
Except, it hadn't; everybody was in the same exact place except for one.
(Y/N) was also where she was a minute ago - alive and standing on her own two feet - and everything seemed like a déjà vu moment.
She felt like something was wrong and she had been dead just a few seconds ago.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the hatchling swipe at her with it's claw just like it had a minute ago but she was smarter this time and dodged it.
"Angel beats: Half note."
The hatchling perished and she sighed in relief while still looking out.
'It feels like somebody rewinded the clock. Even if it was just one minute, it still did a lot.'
Six more hatchlings appeared out of nowhere and surrounded her. One bared its teeth and attacked her, which she managed to dodge just in time.
"Angel beats," she muttered, throwing her hands up in the air, "Melodious Night."
The spell caused a few spark-like symbols to fly out from her hands and shoot straight up into the air before landing back down in different directions and over different intervals like a parabola.
The moment they attacked the hatchlings, she doubled the damage by adding more spells to it.
"You doing good over there, fairy?" she heard a voice ask.
It was Sting and it was obvious that he was still struggling with the dragon but he make time to check up on the ones near him.
"Keep your eyes on your opponent, idiot," she replied, clicking her tongue at him and flashing a thumbs up.
"Says the person who died," he fired back, but diverted his attention back to the dragon.
'Yup. And that's the second time already.'
"Come at me, b.itch," she holler towards the notably larger hatchling.
The creature heard her voice and located her. Without hesitating, it attacked her but it swipe its claws at her, which she dodged.
"Is that all you got?" she taunted, moving away every time it tried to attack her.
Since it was pretty big compared to the others, she figured that the usual spell won't work so she had to stray away from that.
'A quarter note is not going to work because its pretty big so maybe a whole note? Its not an actual dragon so I don't need to do any special things to it.'
"Whole note!" she screamed and attacked, attacking the creature and making it drop to the ground.
"I don't have much energy left," she murmured, "The magic is taking a toll on me. When will they end?"
~ a few more moments of fighting bc I suck at writing fight scenes and you probably don't want to read low quality fights which will turn very boring so lets just time skip to after Lucy and Yukino close and destroy the gate and ish~
The fight did eventually come to an end, thanks to the two celestial mages.
Apparently, they had met a future Lucy and her diary had said that it will stop only after the gate was destroyed.
So they tried to help from the sidelines by doing the most important job and succeeded.
To everyone's relief, the dragons slowly began disappearing and so did the hatchlings.
Every single mages were cheering because it was finally over and they could go back to having fun.
However, the dragon slayers didn't seem so satisfied because none of them managed to kill a dragon.
"Natsu, what's up?" (Y/N) asked her brother, "You look disappointed."
"I'm just tired."
"Is it because you weren't able to kill a dragon?" she asked, getting straight to the point.
He nodded but refused to speak any more.
"You know, I thought that Natsu-san was lying and he had overexaggerated his experience with Acnologia," Sting spoke up, "But its actually very hard. I'm sorry for that time, Natsu-san."
"Its alright, Sti-"
"Yeah, now that you apologized, let's fight in order to make up," the knuckle headed mage shouted, interrupting his sister.
"Sorry about him," (Y/N) flashed a sweet smile while punching Natsu in the head furiously, "Do you ever get tired?"
Everybody heard the sound of somebody clearing their throat very loudly and everybody looked back to see the king.
"I would like to thank every single wizard in her, regardless of their guild, for helping to protect our country, " he announced, "Without wizards like you, we wouldn't be in here right now. And it makes me very happy and quite astonished how you all are still full of energy and all smiles after such a tough battle."
"Therefore," he continued, "Tomorrow, I would like to invite all you wizards to the castle for a great banquet in order to celebrate our victory against the dragons!"
"YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"
