taking the leap

Andrew called me and accompanied me to the conference room for the Q&A. I hear the fans singing my song as I stood outside the room, making me smile from ear-to-ear.

"That's your cue, man." Andrew smiled at me and opened the door.

As soon as I enter, my eyes start searching for those pale blue ones and saw them at the very back of the room.

Don't trip, Shawn. Don't trip. I repeat in my head and walk slowly, but the universe still doesn't cooperate with me and make me trip on air causing the girls to laugh. I wave at them, laughing from embarrassment.

"Hey guys!" I sit on the table in front and look at everyone. "So, you guys probably know the drill for these Q&As, right?"

"Yeah!" They all shout simultaneously then started raising their hands.

I start answering their questions, one by one. Some were serious questions, some were...not so serious.

"Uhm, you." I point to this girl with glasses, who looks like she's at least 20, at the front. "I like your glasses."

"Thank you." She giggles. "Uhm...is Lights On based on a real experience?"

As soon as I hear her question, I immediately turn red and look around, not answering her question, making the crowd laugh.

Trina jumping up and down with her hand raised caught my attention. "So I met this little cutie awhile ago, and looks like she has a question for me." I point to her, chuckling, making the others turn around to see who I was talking about.

She started to shout her question, but her voice was still too low for me to hear. "Uhm, honey? I'm sorry, I can't hear you. Would you want to come to the front here?"

Trina nodded and held Lexy's hand and dragged her to the front. Lexy let go of Trina's hand and sat back with the audience. I pick her up and sat her down next to me. "Hi, Trina." I put my arm around her small frame making the audience coo. "So, what's your question?"

"Lexy and I were watching your new video.." She started.

"Oh, the Holdin' Me Back video?" I ask and she nods.

"Did you get tired of always running around?" She finished her question which made the people in front laugh a little.

I look at her sister, and she just shrugs at me with a sheepish smile. Oh dear.

"Her question was did I get tired while running around for the Holdin' Me Back video." I repeat, so the others at the back would hear. "Well, yeah. It was kind of tiring." I answer her, chuckling.

"Okay, thank you." She said, and was about to jump off the table but I stopped her.

"Is it okay if she stays here?" I turn to Lexy, making the crowd go 'aww' at the gesture. But really, I just wanted to hear the older sister's voice.

"Yeah, sure." She said, smiling at me, showing her dimples. Oh God. Music to my ears, man.

The Q&A went on with little Trina beside me, and me, well, my eyes keep going back to her. I just can't stop staring. I hope they don't notice.
