Shownu's driving instead of me- of course. I can tell from his dead set gaze on the road to his clenched hands on the wheel that the memory still haunts him, especially on this particular day. Jooheon glares at me through the mirror, but only when he thinks I'm not looking, but I notice.
Changkyun doesn't say much, sticking his head out the window as his newly dyed chestnut hair flutters in the wind, his gaze distant. Wonho, staring at space, lost in his thoughts. I didn't miss the way his hand slid to the empty seat on his left, gripping the ripped leather tightly.
Hyungwon is the only one that occasionally makes eye contact with me. He didn't say anything as he made himself comfortable in the trunk with me. Even though he knows that he doesn't love me the way I love him, he was the one who cuddled with me that night, letting me sob silently.
The van drives smoothly, the trees lining ever so neatly on each side of the road. Mountains line the distance, and barren farmlands beyond. It's so smooth that I wish we weren't going to such a remote place. I wish there were other cars.
It's so silent too. The tension so thick, the loudmouth me wants to start conversation and break the ice like I usually do, but nothing will come out of my mouth as long as I'm reminded of the purpose of this trip.

"Let's take a break here. We'll continue in an hour." Shownu said, trying to keep a poker face like he naturally does, but I can see how exhausted he is; physically and mentally. My heart aches, but I don't say anything. The rest of the group mutters agreement and branch out.
We're at the meadow, left the beach and cliffs on the right and south of the forest; our destination. I watch as Hyungwon and Wonho, shoulders touching walk in one direction, while Shownu heads for the beach, sitting down on the silt. Jooheon and Changkyun walk towards the forest, silent.
