   Annalise

It seemed like the both of use stood there for hours after I uttered his name so meekly. Random emotions had passed through me as the tension in the air thickened like early morning dense fog. My expression had settled onto a confused and worried look to Dominic. However, his face had been the same stoic and hard demeanor since his eyes had settled onto me.

"Why," I asked him quietly, my voice sounding like a small, curious child. The bobbing of his large Adam's apple had shown that he wasn't a statue after all; it was indeed Dominic, in the flesh and with me. My heart was definitely pounding from his presence and I felt that he could probably hear the loud beating drum within me.

"It's better you don't know me Annalise," he confessed lowly and walked away towards me and stopped himself very close to me. His lips were only inches from my ear and I could feel his warm breath making small unintended puffs on to sensitive skin. Shivers were sent down my entire body as I felt my hairs stand straight and tall from his body heat. My eyes dared not to even look at him and face those piercing orbs practically burning holes onto my flesh. "And also, if I were you, I wouldn't talk to a person who wants nothing to do with you," he whispered into in ear.

The amount of shock that overcame my entire body was unbelievable from his small sentence. I barely even noticed him walk away in long strides since my jaw was still ajar.

What had I done to make him feel this way?

************

It had been two weeks from the small encounter with Dominic. Not exactly two weeks but it was nearing the mark. The entire moment had been replaying in my head nonstop ever since he walked away from me. I had contemplated texting him but I knew he wouldn't have answered me or at least tell me to stop calling him and leaving voicemails. A part of me absolutely waited for a simple call or text from him but the wiser part of me knew that he wouldn't bother.

"What do you mean you can't go?" Cade yelled through his phone to the poor person on the other line all the way from the living room. A short pause was followed after his statement and then he continued, "I've ordered these tickets a long ass time ago and you're going to say that you're ditching me for a date? They were expensive as hell!" Cade's voice was crescendoing with his heavy footsteps towards my room. He stopped in the doorway of my room and stared at my window with a frustrated look while leaning against my quartz white door frame. "What do you mean find someone else to go? It's a Saturday night, people have made plans you dumb ass!" Cade complained before his furious eyes slid to me. His eyes then widened as if a great idea had sprouted into his head and started to grin. My eyes grew round as I realized what Cade wanted me to do for him and shook my head furiously to him while he sat there trying to stifle a laugh. "I found a replacement already you useless asshole. I hope you're date is really dry tonight," Cade pressed the hang up button without letting the other person on the line finish.

"No," I declared to him and crossed my arms. Cade's ever so bright smile was wiped from his face and in turn, replaced with a depressed look.

"Come on lil sis, you don't even know what the tickets are for tonight so how can you say no?" he begged me as he slowly walked closer to my bed.

"Don't you give me that Cade. It's this fight that you and some friend of yours wanted to see since forever and I'm not going. You know damn well that I don't like to see those kinds of things," I defended, raising my stubbornness to a new standard.

"This is the one night I want you to do me a favor. Please Annalise, those tickets were expensive and you don't want me to waste my own money now do you," Cade pleaded to me as I rolled my eyes at him. "I will owe you a lot if you do this favor for me Anna."

"If you stop with the sappy begging I'll go but you owe me big time," I finally caved to him and releasing a sigh.

"Thank you so much sis," he ecstatically said while throwing his arms around me in gratitude. "Get ready, we are going to an fight."

************

"Ladies and gentlemen, who is ready for a showdown tonight?" the spectator roared as the crowd went wild in cheers. "Tonight is the fight between Fierce Bull," he paused and let the crowd cheer "and the famous Death Reaper!" The crowd cheered their loudest at the mention of Death Reaper.

"Who are these people Cade?" I asked him, distracting him from the spectator speaking.

"They are two fighters but as you could tell, Death Reaper is actually the better ones and has only lost a handful of fights in his entire fighting career. I do know that Fierce Bull is some guy named Ryan Cole but I don't know Death Reaper's actual name," Cade informed me.

I nodded to him and was about to ask a question until I was interrupted by the spectator roaring into his microphone about the fight coming up in the next few minutes. My attention wandered away from the spectator and to everything around me. The smell of sweat, food and cigarette smoke filled the entire arena. The hyped cheers of the audience gave me a feeling of encouragement and anticipation for the fight about to occur.

"Now the moment we've all been waiting for, lets welcome Fierce Bull!" The spectator exclaimed and the crowd following right after with loud cheers.

Fierce Bull made his grand entrance on the left corner of the arena with confetti going everywhere as he ran with his confident smile and his navy blue and white robe around him. His shiny bald head reflected from all the light in the room and his bare chest had tattoos of many sorts scribbled all over with symbols and names of all sorts. The ran to the side of the ring and waited for his competitor to emerge.

"All of must cheer your hearts out for Death Reaper!"The tall and skinny spectator whooped excitedly.

If I thought Fierce Bull's entrance was something, Death Reaper had taken it out his out of the world. Fog had emerged from every space of the arena and filled the sitting area with a deep smog as the lights dimmed dramatically. I found it intriguing that this fighter had thought of his entrance to match the style of his deathly and mysterious name. Although the lights had almost been off, the crowd roared in excitement, including my older brother next to me. Then, all of the sudden, a bright white light had cast into the right corner of the arena and there shown a man. His jet black and blood red trimmed robe and shinned in the killer white rays of light. However, we couldn't see Death Reaper's face due to his black hood cloaking his face like the actual Death Reaper. He strode confidently to the ring with the white light following him as every single person in the room practically made me deaf from the amount of screaming happening around me. When Death Reaper had reached the ring, all the fog had dissipated and all the lights had beamed back on to the way they were before as everyone waited for him to take his hooded robe off. Finally, the fighter had felt he had enough cheering and stripped himself of his robe and was left in nothing except for his black taped hands and his black and red shorts. I kept looking at him as I tried to ponder on who I recognize this person from. Finally, the cameras had started honing in on the fighters and I noticed that Death Reaper had the exact same caramel hair and ocean blue eyes as someone I knew.

   Dominic is Death Reaper.

And with that, the fight commenced with Dominic landing his first uppercut straight into Fierce Bull's bottom jaw.

Before I say anything else, it is currently 1:00am as I post this so I am extremely tired and haven't even dared to edit anything. The goal was to just upload a fully thought out chapter just for all of you lovely readers.
