TENTH CHAPTER
Anger was boiling in my veins, as I stomped my foot like my little brothers did every so often. Maybe that was the exact reason why Dad didn't think of me as an adult. Because, I behaved no better than an eight year old. But, right now I didn't care about it. I was raging and fuming and I wanted to stomp my foot so I did.
I was so mad.
My nails dug in the soft skin of my palm, which were balled. I didn't even care that it was hurting a little. I swear if smoke could come out of nose and ears when angry, my entire room would be filled with it.
How could they do that!
They allowed Gia to go to the party!!!!
She was freaking grounded!
Dad sighed, pouting, and contemplating what to say to calm me down but, there was nothing to say to put the fire away now. Dad's dark hair were a mess, as he ran a hand through them and then placed it on his hip, shifting his weight to another foot. His green eyes softly staring my freak out moment.
Good thing he chose my room to talk not downstairs where the devils could witness this.
I simply didn't want her there, to show me off how great she was, how many friends she had, and how funny she could be, and blah blah blah.
"No! No no no no no no no no." I said, shaking my head. "You can't do that. It is suppose to be my thing. The party I've been invited to. Not she. She's just crashing it. And that's bad and wrong, right?"
"It's for your own safety, sweetie. She told me things about this Jacob guy-- who to me sounds like a hungry wolf just by his name-- things which are not so good. Any dad would want her girl to be safe."
"What? I can't believe you're trusting her. That 'hungry wolf' was her boyfriend twenty four hours ago-- what happened to being protective for her dad?" I added, pacing a little, "And, Ky's going with me and he can keep me safe! Why did you have to ruin my happiness just before it comes knocking at my door?" I was packing my stuff when dad asked if I could talk to him for a moment. I wished I had said I was exhausted or something that he should wait for few days.
I crumbled down on my bed, feeling the tears in my eyes.
He knelt before me and placed his hands on my shoulders. "Honey, look at me." I didn't.
"Please."
I sighed and glanced up at him, in the eyes which my evil twin had inherited.
He smiled at me, "Just this one time? For us pretty please? Pinky promise I won't send her with you anywhere and would drive her to and from school myself for the rest of her grounding month? How does that sound?"
I sighed. It was tempting. I wouldn't have to carry her around anymore.
And if I think hard enough, I could definitely ignore her as if she's not even there. Piece of cake, right?
I nodded and his lips stretched wider.
He hugged me and kissed the top of my head. "That's my girl. I'm just trying to be a good dad."
I nodded. "I understand."
"And I am protective of Gia too. I am keeping my eyes on this new Kreston guy... whom I caught making out on my sofa a couple of hours ago." I laughed, scrunching my nose at him.
I knew he was just doing his job and I honestly loved him for it.
He kissed the my head, and stood up, making me stand too. He half hugged me, "Just stay safe and never stop listening to your heart. Trust me, it will always lead you in the right direction. And of course have fun. Okay?"
