The cats have nothing to do with story, but I thought it was cute. They made me think of kitty versions of April and Blake.

I stared out of the window as small drops began to dot the glass. I wanted to be outside in what sunlight was left, but I knew that the rain would cover that soon too.

I sighed with disappointment as the rain began falling down harder and faster, blurring my view of the outside world. I sat there on my bed so focused on the blurred window, that I hadn't noticed that Blake had come in.

"Man, it's raining cats and dogs out there," he said setting his messenger bag down on my desk.

"Uh huh, " I said absently, not fully listening to him. I continued to stare at the rainy glass as Blake talked.

"I was talking to my dad and he said the rain wasn't going to let up until really late tonight," he continued.

"That's nice," I said looking at the girl in the window with the boy reflected behind her. I watched as Blake turned and looked at me.

"When do your parents get home?" He asked crossing his arms over his chest.

"Have fun with that," I said.

Blake laughed and walked over to where I sat on my bed. I broke from my trance as he picked me up and set me down so that my legs laid across his lap.

"Are you okay, April?" He asked resting back against my pillows. He interlaced our fingers as his green eyes stared into my brown one.

"Yeah, I'm just thinking," I said rubbing my cheek against the back of his hand.

"About the rain?" He asked closing his eyes and making himself comfortable.

"I smiled. "Yeah, I guess," I said as I watched him relax. Looking at him, I had actually forgotten about the rain and the wish for the sun to come out.

"Well, hey, I don't blame you. You've always been a sunny person, not a rainy one," he said opening his eyes and looking at me. A smile crept across his face slowly. "I think we should fix that."

"Fix what?" I asked as Blake sat up and pressed a sweet kiss on my cheek.

He got out of my bed and went to my closet. He started going through my clothes pulling out things then putting them back.

"Blake, I love you, but what are you doing?" I asked looking at him from across the room.

"I'm looking for your raincoat and rain boots," he said setting my boots down beside him. "Here are your rain boots. Now, where is your coat?"

"Bottom right drawer. Why are you looking for that stuff?"

He opened the drawer and pulled out my blue raincoat. He shut the drawer, grabbed the stuff and walked back over to the bed. "We are going to go out in the rain," He said throwing them on the bed.

"Why?" I asked moving so that I sat on the edge of the bed, in front of Blake.

He cupped by face in his hands. "I'm going to show you how to have fun in the rain," he said before pressing a kiss to my lips. "Now, get dressed. I'll be downstairs." He walked over to the door and was gone.

I sighed and looked at my raincoat and rain boots. "Show me how to have fun in the rain, huh?" I picked up my coat and began to slid it on. "We'll see about that."

"Okay, Blake. How does one have fun in this gloomy weather?" I asked as we stood there with the rain falling over us.

"Well, for starters," Blake said taking my hand and holding it in his. "Don't think of the rain as gloomy. Think of it as... small drops of life for the plants and animals around us."

"Okay then, but how are we going to have fun?" I asked stepping closer to him.

"Well, first we're go for a walk," Blake smiled as he turned and began to take a few steps. He turned his head back and looked at me. "Coming?"

I sighed and began to follow him. We walked in the rain, hand in hand, down the street.

"So, are we going any specific place?" I asked as we came to a stop at a crosswalk.

"No, not really. Walking in the rain just seems calming and fun in a way," Blake said letting go of my hand. "Hey, April. Come over here." Blake walked over to a puddle on the side of the road.

"Look! a puddle!" he said looking at me with a childish grin.

"Alright, what are you going to do with the pud-"

Before I could finish my sentence, a car came splashing the water from the puddle all over Blake and me.

I stood there soaked, water filling my rain boots and coat. I looked over at Blake.

"I'm going home," I said turning around and walking back  down the street where Blake and I had come from.

"Come on, April!" Blake called behind me.

I turned around to see him running after me. "Blake, don't run! It's wet, you'll trip and-" I didn't finish my warning, there wasn't a need to. Blake had done exactly what I was warning him about.

He fell to the ground with curse. He rolled on to his back, his hands holding his left knee.

"Blake!" I yelled making my way to him. I bent down next to him. "Are you okay?"

"I think I'm bleeding," he groaned removing one hand from his knee. I looked at the red on his hand. It looked like watercolor paint being drowned in water.

"Come on, Blake. We need to get you back home. Can you walk?" I asked helping him sit up.

"I can try," he said taking my hand to pull himself up. He got to his feet, his right arm around my neck for support.

"Alright, let's go home," I said as he moved forward.

I opened my bedroom door, two cups of hot chocolate on a tray. I looked at Blake, who sat on my bed looking out the window at the rain.

"April?" He asked as I closed the door and made my way to the bed.

"What is it, Blake?" I replied setting the tray down on the bedside table.

He looked at me with a little smile. "Did you have any fun in the rain?"

Looking at him smile made me think. "Yeah, I did have some fun," I said getting in the bed next to Blake with my back to the wall.

I handed him a cup of coco and took one myself. "But I didn't get a souvenir like you did."

"Oh, haha. Very funny." He took a sip of his drink. "I didn't ask for it, you know."

"Then you shouldn't have ran in the rain," I said resting my head on his shoulder. "I am glad your okay."

"I'm glad you fun."

From that moment on, I liked the rain. I went out for a walk with Blake every time the rain came down.
