-Katie-
I panicked as George rushed to his car, gripping my wrist to pull me with him. Why were we in such a rush? My face didn't really hurt, there was just a lot of blood.
"George why are we rushing?"
"Look, I'm pretty sure a cut shouldn't have left that much damage, it's probably nothing, I just want to make sure your okay, before you faint from blood loss"
'Faint from blood loss' was all I could think about for the rest of the journey. I was shaking and my breathing had quickened.
"George?"
"Yeah babe?"
"I'm going to be okay right?"
"Of course you will, it can't have done that much damage"
"Are you sure?"
"Positive"
The cars engine soon stopped and George was helping me out of the car towards the entrance. My heart was racing as George pulled me through the doors. We went straight to the reception desk where George said,
"Uhm hi, this is my girlfriend Katie, she needs to see someone about this cut"
The receptionist looked at me, obviously surprised about the amount of blood.
"Oh right okay, I will find a doctor for you know, please take a seat in the waiting area"
George and I sat down on the plastic, extremely uncomfortable seats while we waited. It wasn't too long before a doctor came out and called my name. We followed him round a number of corridors until we came to a hospital room.
"Okay Katie, just sit on that bed for me and we will check you out"
I did as he said and sat down on the bed.
"Right you two, how did this happen"
Me and George exchanged glances at one another, not knowing wether we should tell the truth. But George opened his big mouth and did exactly that.
"Some girl through a stone at her face, it was obviously quite sharp"
"Ah, Katie are you anemic?"
"Uhm not that I'm aware of"
"Right okay, I better test you for it, I can't think of any other explanation as to why you are bleeding so much. But first I will have to put some stitches in okay?"
Stitches. On my face, I am never going to go out in public again.
"Okay"
Was all I managed to say, I closed my eyes and George grasped my hand whilst the doctor placed the stitches.
"Well that's all done"
I opened my eyes and looked in the mirror to the side of me.
"Doctor? Is this going to scar?"
"It probably will do yes"
I looked over at George, tears threatening to spill over the brim of my eyes. The doctor left the room, I'm assuming to go and get the things to test me for anemia.
"George I don't want a scar on my face for the rest of my life"
"I know babe, but you are still beautiful to me, and if you really want to I'm sure we can find something to help heal the scar"
I opened my mouth to say something but the doctor walked back in.
"I'm going to test you for anemia now, you are aware of what this is yes?"
"Yes, it's when you bleed a lot, very easily"
The doctor tested me in a few minutes before telling me,
"It appears you do have anemia, but in your case it is acute"
"Oh, uh thankyou"
I hopped down off the bed and ran I to George's arms, I needed a hug.
"You will need to go to the reception desk now to collect some cream that should help it to heal, and to arrange an appointment for me to remove the stitches"
I nodded my head in response and George and I made our way back to the desk.
George spoke for me,
"Hello again, we were told we needed to pick up some cream?"
"Yes, here you go"
The receptionist leaned under her desk and received a small pot of cream. She then handed it to us and said,
"Do you need to make another appointment?"
"Yes, so I can get my stitches out"
"Right, well you should come back in about a weeks time, so is next Wednesday okay?"
"Yes that's perfect, thankyou, what time?"
"Is 11 okay?"
"Yes that's fine"
"Okay see you then"
Me and George left the hospital. Then my phone rang,
(K=Katie & J=Jaymi)
K: Hello?
J: KATIE WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU
K: oh my god jay I'm so sorry, I've been at the hospital
J: the hospital? What why?
K: oh it's nothing to worry about
J: Then why were you there?
K: Look I will ring you later okay?
J: Okay babe, speak later then, bye!
K: Bye babe
I came off the phone and walked with George to his car.
