Chapter 1

Sofia's Point of View -

"Wake up honey, you don't want to miss your flight!"

I was awoken by my mom this morning. Today was finally the day, the day I started my life over. I am currently living in Detroit, Michigan and would be moving to Los Angeles, California to attend UCLA for college.

I got up from my bed and went to the bathroom to do my usual morning routine. Since I was going to be on a plane for 5 hours, I decided to wear my long medium-brown hair in a bun. I changed out of my pajamas and into an oversized hoodie, leggings, and my white converse. I quickly ran downstairs to eat some breakfast.

'Hmm what did mom make for breakfast?' I thought to myself.

My luggage was waiting for me when I got down the stairs, neatly packed and ready to go.

"Good morning honey! Eat your food quick, we have to get to the airport on time." My dad said to me. I rolled my eyes and took a bite out of my bagel.

"Don't worry dad, we have like an hour left!"

"I know I just want to make sure that everything is good to go."

I quickly finished my bagel and got up to grab my luggage. My mom had already turned on the car and was waiting inside for my dad and I.

The car ride was short and quiet to the airport. I had about half an hour left until it was time to board the plane. It felt like we had been waiting forever before I started to see people slowly move towards the gate.

"I'm gonna miss you guys. I promise to at least call every week & try to Skype as much as I can!"

I said to my parents, my voice cracking slightly. At this point, my mom was already crying and hugging me while my dad smiled and told me how proud he was.

'I'm ready to do this' I tell myself, as I walk through the gate and on to the plane. Luckily, I got a window seat so this wouldn't be too bad of a flight. I put in my headphones and quickly fell asleep for the rest of the flight. When I wake up, I'll be a new person in a new city!

Soo, that was the first chapter aha. Idk how I feel about it so far! It was a little short in my opinion so should I make the rest of the chapters longer?
