Hi everyone! After these two long months, I can finally update Sweet Oblivion! I'm planning to update more this summer since I have more time. I'll be traveling but I'll still do my best to keep posting chapters until I finish this book. Enjoy!

It was an expensive Italian restaurant that they went to. As they were seated down and waited to have their orders taken, Valentina complimented Eva.
"You know what I noticed while we were shopping?" she began,
Eva looked up from the menu to listen to her.
"You." Valentina simply said before continuing. "You have this certain glow about you whenever you're around people. The only people I know with this glow are the ones that are in love."
Eva blushed and Valentina knew she hit something right.
"So, are you in love with anyone right now?" Valentina pushed softly.
Eva cleared her throat trying to find the right words to say. "Well, I am in love with someone but he doesn't notice me no matter how hard I try." she said.
Valentina waited for her to continue speaking but Eva remained silent. "And who is this lucky man that you're in love with right now?" she pushed.
"Let's just say that he's a very intelligent and powerful man. We've known each other since I was just a child and he's going to be a teenager."
"Do you mean my brother?" Valentina said.
Eva's eyes widened looking as if she's been caught. "Was it that obvious?" she whispered. The waiter finally came to take their orders. Valentina didn't speak Italian so she decided to get the same thing Eva ordered.
Valentina nodded. "I got the feeling when I first met you." she smiled as she sipped the water before her.
"You seemed very jealous and hostile when you saw me at his side." she added.
Eva smacked the side of her head. "I didn't mean to. I didn't know that you were siblings."
"I completely understand." Valentina siad.
"Love makes you do crazy things." she replied.
"I agree."
When their food came, Valentina started to eat. She hasn't eaten anything since breakfast and it was great. The food was amazing she couldn't complain.
Valentina, after she finished her meal, began to talk to Eva again who watched her in awe.
"You finished quickly." she muttered in surprise, her doll like eyes wide.
"I was pretty hungry."
Valentina wiped her hands on a napkin. "When did you first start falling in love with Julian?" she asked her.
"It wasn't instantaneous. I'll tell you that. I met him after he lost his sister. Our families are close to each other yet I've never met him until after the event that the Avanos lost you."
Eva continued eating before she started to speak again. It's going to be a while before she can get Eva to crack.
"He was quiet and he was reserved. He took it really hard that he lost his sister after he lost his father."
Valentina perked up at this new information that she she received. So Julian doesn't have a father. Interesting. That makes the both of them because her father abandoned her and her family at an early age that she barely remembered the man himself.
"I became like a surrogate sister to him. At first, I loved it because I got him to open up to me when he didn't want to open up to anyone else. And then slowly, I fell so hard in love with him one day that I couldn't breathe because this wasn't supposed to happen to me in the first place."
Eva's brows scrunched in irritation before letting out a bitter laugh. "I'm Eva Payne. Men fall in love with me just like that because of my career as an actress. But not Julian. He's different. I'm not his type of girl."
Valentina remained silent. After all, she agreed with almost everything Eva told her. From what she observed from Julian's personality, Eva was too immature for a man like him.
What Julian needed was a woman like Valentina Sanchez. Strong, independent, and beautiful. Too bad, she came with cruel intentions.
Eva and Valentina finished their food and headed outside. Before they could even take a step foot outside the restaurant, paparazzi swarmed the girls with their bright photos.
"Eva! Ms. Eva Payne, could you look here please!" They screamed. One of the paparazzi grabbed Valentina's arm harshly. "Ms. Payne's friend, could you tell us what you're doing here tonight?"
Valentina pulled her arm away in annoyance and ignored them. The paparazzi began to surround the girls and Valentina started to panic. Her lungs constricted begging for air. She hated being confined by a lot of people.
"Where are your bodyguards?!" Valentina asked, trying her best to hide the panic in her voice.
"They're coming soon, don't worry!" Eva said smiling. Valentina could tell that she was enjoying the attention she's receiving from the press. However, Valentina felt as if she was about to pass out.
Her vision swam and she fell back. She expected to feel the cold hard asphalt. Instead, she fell into someone's arms.
Valentina's lids fluttered open slowly. Her vision was blurry but she could make out the soft brunette hair and sharp features of her savior.
