This story is inspired by the Netflix original The Get Down. The storyline of Mylene and zeke and how there stories ended. This is my favorite show and I'm sad it is coming to an end. I had to make this because I couldn't get the song out of my head. Also you should listen to the song because it sets the tone.
Y/n POV
I sit in the small kitchen eating cereal dreaming of what my future holds with my butter scotch queen. My aunt takes me out of my head when she hands me a letter. I open it and see it is from Yale. After what happened I doubt they would take a poor black kid from the Bronxs. I wouldn't blame them considering my bestfrind/ drug dealer pulled a gun on the principle's son.
"Yale accepted me" I yelled ecstatically
"Y/n you made it" my aunt said crying tears of joy. My mother would be proud if she was here to see me now. I made it out of the Bronx ma
"I have to go tell Lauren" I take the train to the studio where she was recording her newest single. When I reached the top floor I see my butter scotch queen singing her heart out. Her angelic voice can solve any of my problems. 1+1= Lauren .
"Y/n what are you doing here" she said while pulling me into a tight hug
" I have great news" she didn't seem very excited. She had sad puppy dog eyes
"What's wrong" she pulls me away from the others
"I'm leaving for California tonight. I can't ask you to wait for me because I don't know when I'll be back."
" I'll wait forever for you. I've been waiting on you my whole life . Even when we are together a part of me feels as if I'm still waiting for you but that's ok though" she look at me with her tear filled eyes and buried her face into my chest.
"Why are you so good to me" I lift her chin so she was looking directly into my eyes
"You're my butter scotch queen . I love you and I will never stop loving you" I kissed her like it was last time I would ever feel her pillow soft lips. Her butter scotch kiss were everything and more. Her manager calls her back into the room to continue her recording.
What was that good news you had for me" she asked with excited eyes. I handed her the letter. She takes it and try's to open it until I stop her.
"Open it on the plane" she smiles and then walks in the studio. She sings a song call the other side and listening to it hurts more than a shot to the chest. She was leaving me, my butter scotch queen.
Who would of knew my would mate
Would have wings to fly and leave me with heart ache
Now she the queen of the party ...
No matter if I live or die
Promise Ima meet you on the other side
