LAUREN POV

Y/N and I have been dating for a year now. It has been the best year of my life. Layla also seems to be enjoying having her mommy around more. She has been busy these last few days though. She keeps saying it is her job but I know it is something else.

*Ding*

That is all I ever heard and she leaves the room to answer it. Is she cheating on me? This is why I have commitment issues. I should have never thought that me and y/n would actually work. We are just way too different. The only thing we have in common is Layla.

"Lauren she meant nothing to me" Andrew pleased his cases to me like he was in the court of law

"Andrew I found you and that bitch in my bed"

"It wasn't even like that" he continued lying

"Just get out of my house and take that bitch with you" I feel the wetness on my cheek as my tears fall

My heart is completely shattered! My first love ... Broke me. I've been with him for 4 years and he threw it all away for her. What does she have that I don't have? Better hair? A banging body ? I trusted him with my heart, he stole it and left me empty. I will never commit to anyone ever again!

From Y/N: can you meet me by the fountain downtown

To Y/N: I am on my way

Lucky for me Layla is at a friends house so it was easy to slip out of the house. What did she need to meet by the fountain for? The fountain was are spot in college. We would sit and chat about what was happening in the world around us. I always loved being there with her because it seemed so peaceful. I arrive to the meeting place and see y/n standing with a bouquet of roses and sweat dripping from her temple.

"Hey babe" she says and hand me the flowers

" hi" I respond dryly

"Well... I'm just going to do this" she gets down on one knee and continues to speak " I have loved you from the first time I laid eyes on you. You are the best thing that has ever happen to me . When we met at this fountain that was probably the best day of my life. Every day since I have wanted you to be mine. You are the most beautiful girl alive my green eyed beauty. I love you and our daughter Layla. I want us to be a real family. Will you marry me? " I had tears in my eyes and regret in my heart for what I was about to do next

"No" she look shocked and quickly got up From her position

"Why not" I just handed her the flowers back and ran away. I couldn't stand to see her heart being broken right in front of me. I broke the love of my life's heart like he broke mine. But why did I break her heart? Because I am too stupid and fragile to let someone in.

I stop running when I find a park. I sit at one of the benches and stare at the play ground. I put my head in my hands and think about all that has happened.

"Long day" A older lady dressed in work out clothing says sitting next to me

"What gave it away" I chuckle as I wipe away my runny mascara

"Just a lucky guess... You know talking to strangers is somewhat easier than talking to someone you know" she says with a comforting smile. I told her about my dilemma.

" Some times the right person is wroth risking everything for" she says after hearing what I had to say

" what if she is the wrong person" I spoke

" how do you truly feel about her" she ask

"She is the sweetest person ever. She is so kind hearted ,she wouldn't hurt a fly. Layla calls y/n her super hero because she is always there when we need her. Her sense of humor is enough alone to have any person dying with laughter. She is goofy and weird but it comes off as adorable. She loves me for all of my flaws even when I mess up... Which I do quite often. She is just amazing and I love her sooooo much" I say with the biggest smile plastered on my face. Thinking about the woman that has my heart makes me melt

"It seem that she is worth it" she says " it also seems that she has found you so go after what your heart want. The heart has the ability to heal itself so fight for something that your heart desires" with that the women continues her jog

"I love you Lauren" y/n says timidly almost as if she was scared of my reaction

" I love you too and yes I will marry you. I want you! I want us" she grabbed my hand and moves her lips toward mine. When our lips touched I felt fire works. She was the one. She has to be!

"Well I guess I will ask again... Will you marry me" she says on one knee

"No" an empty look appeared on her face almost unreadable " I'm just joking with you. Yes, I will marry you"
