I had been walking for awhile now with nowhere to go, it was the first nice we day we have had in awhile and I had decided to make the most of it. I continued to walk until I came across a small park that I had never seen before, it didn't have much just a swing set, monkey bars, a slide and a couple of benches I had never seen. The park had a small lake on one side and trees lined the other, there was no one around so I went and sat on one of the swings. After swinging for a bit I got bored and decided to walk through the trees to see how far they went, it might sound weird but I like exploring places I've never been.
I had been walking through the trees for a while now it turns out there were a lot of trees. As I reached the edge of the trees I heard what sounded like sobbing coming from around me somewhere. I looked around in front of me but didn't see anything so I turned around and followed the sound until I came across someone leaning against a tree with their head in their hands. I stepped on a branch making their head snap up revealing a beautiful girl with hazel eyes and dirty blonde hair. I recognized her from school her name is Ashley and she's one of the most popular girls in school and a cheerleader, we don't get along at all I mean she's popular and I'm well not.
"Ashley?" I asked unsure of what else to say, although she didn't answer me just looked back down.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"I'm fine, just go away" She answered. I could hear the annoyance in her voice so I nodded and turned to walk away but her voice stopped me.
"Riley?" She said quietly.
"What" I turned around and faced her.
"What are you doing out here" She asked. I laughed quietly causing her to look at me confused.
"I was exploring, as lame as that sounds" She giggled.
"Well I'm gonna do what you asked at leave" I turned and started to walk away.
I figured Ashley had a fight with her boyfriend or something and that she would get over it but when I came back from exploring the other side of the trees she was still there staring into space with tears still on her cheeks. She hadn't noticed me so I debated just leaving her there and going home but something told me to stay. I sighed and sat down next to her making her jump a little and look at me.
"What are you doing here again?" She asked.
"I was coming back from exploring the other side of the trees" She laughed.
"That sounds lame"
"Yeah but it's not as lame as it sounds, it can actually be quite fun"
We sat in silence until she looked at me and spoke.
"Why are here?" I sighed.
"I wanted to make sure you were okay"
"Why do you care? I'm horrible to you"
"Honestly I don't know but I do so I'm not leaving until I know you're okay"
"I'm fine, it was just a fight with Jason" I knew she was lying.
"You're lying" I accused.
"No I'm not, not entirely" I looked at her confused.
"You're going to find out anyway so I might as well tell you myself" she paused "I think I might be gay and I wrote it in my diary but Jason found it and freaked out especially when he saw that I wrote I thought I was falling for a girl and I'm pretty sure he's going to tell Selena and the rest of the girls and they will tell everyone" She spoke fast, I almost didn't understand.
"But you made fun of me for being gay"
"I was confused and angry at myself and I took it out on everyone else especially you, I'm sorry" She put her head down and started crying quietly again. I moved over and wrapped my arms around her rubbing her back.
