Recap: As we strode down the empty corridor, I kept a close eye on the Angel; anticipating his next move. With a burst of speed I saw coming a mile away, the Angel swung around, his fist targeted at my face. With a smile, I dodged his blow. Our little game of cat and mouse began.

"Angel, what am I going to do with you?" I sighed as brought my fists out in front of me, bracing myself for his next move. He swung his leg, his shin aiming for my thigh. With a short, deft movement, I lifted my leg and turned my shin out. His ankle hit my shin, causing him to take a step back. Immediately, I swung out my other leg, using his own move against him.

The Angel growled and prepared for his next attack, but his lack of food had made him weak. I could tell his was swaying on his feet, trying desperately to keep his balance long enough to land an attack. His lack of strength was evident as he threw a sloppy punch that I easily blocked.

"I'm done playing games." I snarled and lunged at him, slamming him into the wall; his head narrowly missed a sconce. I pressed my body against his, not giving him the opportunity to swing at me or escape. Our noses were separated by the narrowest margin of space.

"What did I tell you about behaving?" I had never been this close to him before. The gentle blue waves of his eyes were speckled with flecks of gold. I drew in a breath and realized were were sharing the same air. I leaned my head back a fraction, giving myself a larger bubble of personal space.

"What do you have to say for yourself?" I taunted him, teased him, willed him to react. Our game was all the more fun if I could ruffle his feathers, but his defined facial features were as stoic as ever. I was beginning to wonder if he was capable of expressing any emotion other than anger.

Although I was used to his outbursts, I was astonished when he gifted me with actual words. I had only heard him speak a few select sentences, so more than that was greatly surprising.

"You must be more idiotic than I thought if you expect me to go along with your wicked deeds willingly. Do you take me for a fool? I have been trained my entire life to resist your kind. Don't think that you can change me; I would rather die than become akin to the likes of you." His voice was scratchy from time without usage, but I could detect a slight Irish lilt beneath his words. The way he wove his speech was melodic; the emphasis he created on certain words made for crystal clear understanding. His deep rooted anger was also evident in the way his eyes flashed and his teeth bared.

I clucked my tongue and shook my head teasingly, as if I was scolding a child. I moved one hand out of the cage I was creating with my arms in order to snap my fingers. I flatted my hand, palm up, and waited for what I wanted to appear. With a small flash, the desired object was nestled in my palm. A leather collar with a chain acting as a leash made the Angel's eyes widen a fraction. A slow smile crept across my lips.

"I told you to behave yourself. I wouldn't call an escape attempt behaving. Would you?" I brought the collar closer to his face, showing him what would shortly be encircling his neck. The Angel furrowed his eyebrows in vexation. Even though I still had him pressed firmly against the wall, his spine seemed to straighten, as if appearing taller would make him more menacing.

"Kinky, are we?" A sudden smile split my lips and I laughed - a laugh that filled the empty corridor with an echo of my amusement. As if in response to my laughter, the corner of his lips turned up into something that faintly resembled a smile. The Angel continued to surprise me; first with is little monologue, and now with his attempt at defiance. This Angel was a pet I planned on keeping.
