No Longer Dead

I didn't mean to attack Jeff. I don't know what came over me. I can't help but think of that night...how I felt when I murdered my father. I felt like that just a minute ago...except this time...my mind went completely blank and I don't remember even attacking Jeff...

But that doesn't matter.

That foul ass killed my mother and now I want him dead more than ever before.

I stalk through the forest until I reach the exit. I feel my heart pounding harder and harder inside my chest with each step I take. Fury courses through me and I grasp my axe and wield it for all to see. Without my mask and hoodie, I feel bare. But I. Don't. Care.

"COME OUT HERE YOU FUCKING BASTARD!" I scream as I break out of the forest. "COME OUT HERE AND FACE ME LIKE A MAN!"

"Toby what are you doing?!" I hear someone shout somewhere that feels like so far away from me.

"I know you're OUT HERE JUST WAITING TO TAKE ME AWAY!" I scream. "I'M HERE AREN'T I?! TAKE ME!"

"TOBY!" Something jumps on me from behind and tackles me to the ground. I try to hoist myself up but whatever is on my back is too strong. "Toby calm down!" I hear someone say. I see bare feet walk into my view and I reach my hand out and grasp their ankle.

"Let me go." I snarl.

"Calm down first." I recognize the voice now.

"Let me go Puppet."

"Calm the fuck down." The weight on my back grows and I scream in fury. "What part of calm down do you not understand?" Puppeteer snaps. He snaps his fingers and my hand that's grasping his ankle smashes to the ground and a thin gold string wraps around it. The weight pulls down on my wrists and ankles.

"L-let me go." I snap.

"Ah, see? That's how you calm down." The weight on my body lifts slighting but I still can't get up. "What are you doing you lunatic? You do realize you're one of the top ten wanted? And here you are screaming for someone to take you?! You're more insane than I thought." Puppeteer says as he sits down on the ground in front of me.

"He killed m-my mother d-didn't you hear?" I ask.

"Yes I did hear. And how many times has that asshat lied to you? More times than you can count, probably." He says. I stare at him. He has a point, but I can't risk it. The man with the glasses could be lying to get me to come to him, but he could also have my mom even if he hasn't killed her...

"I can't take that risk." I snap.

"Calm down." Puppet snaps.

"I am calm." I snarl.

"No you're not. You're not calm until I hear your stutter." I stare at him angrily. Why can't the piece of shit just let me go so I can find the bastard who killed my mother!? "Now, tell me why you attacked Jeff back there."

"I d-didn't mean to." I say. "It just happened."

"But why?"

"I don't know why!" I shout. "Masky fucking wakes up and tells me my mom has been murdered and then I wasn't myself!"

"Toby--"

"Calm down I know." I hiss. Puppet crosses his arms and stares at me. I huff. "I've h-had something l-like this h-h-happen before. B-before I came h-here. I'm sure you've h-heard the story?"

"Yeah you killed your dad?" He asks.

"Y-yeah." I say. "Anyway, in th-that moment my b-body went completely n-numb and I couldn't control m-myself. It w-was almost as i-if I didn't have a m-mind. I just...l-lost it."

"M'kay, what does this have to do with Jeff?" Puppet asks.

"I don't kn-know what happened b-back there. I lost c-control again. I don't e-even remember anything b-before I snapped b-back and I w-was on top of him." I say.

"Hmm..." We stay in silence for a while. "Alright." The weight completely lifts off me and I slowly bring myself to stand. Puppet stands as well.

"Touching story." BANG.

My eyes widen. I feel something unusual in my side and and I look down to see blood on my shirt.

"Puppet-?" BANG. I look back up at Puppeteer to see him collapse after turning sharply to the left. "P-Puppet?!" I shout. I clamp my hand over my wound and try to shake Puppet before I see a bullet hole in the side of his head.

"Is your offer still up?" A cool and grotesque voice coos at me.
