After Scott returned from an unexpected conversation with Allison's mother instead of the principal, he found himself being quickly filled in by Stiles about the new information they had uncovered. Scott's expression was a mix of confusion and shock as he tried to process it.

"It means he was born after his mom died—by C-section," Stiles explained, his voice carrying an edge of disbelief. "They had to pull him out of her dead body."

They were supposed to be shelving books as part of their detention, but their focus was entirely elsewhere. Stiles' explanation was cutting through the tense atmosphere of the library while Kylie sat on the floor, examining book covers, meticulously separating the ones she liked from the ones she didn't.

"So, was it an accident or not?" Allison questioned, her brows furrowing as she tried to piece everything together.

Stiles shrugged, a helpless look in his eyes. "The word all over the report is 'inconclusive,'" he said. It wasn't an answer that left anyone feeling reassured.

"Then... his parents could have been murdered?" Scott asked, his eyes narrowing as he tried to see where this fit into the larger puzzle.

Stiles nodded thoughtfully. "If they were, then it falls in line with the kanima myth, you know? It seeks out and kills murderers."

Allison's gaze shifted, her eyes lost in thought. "But for Jackson?" she wondered. "Or the person controlling him?" The question hung in the air like a storm cloud.

Kylie, sitting cross-legged, suddenly stilled. She felt something—an unease pricking at her senses. She tilted her head slightly, cracking her neck as she focused. Her eyes flicked over to a shelf where Jackson and Matt were supposed to be. Something wasn't right.

"We have to talk to him. We have to tell him," Scott suddenly declared, determination taking over as he moved towards Jackson.

"He's not gonna li—" Stiles started to object.

"Scotty—" Allison and Kylie both tried to stop him, sensing the urgency, but Scott wasn't listening.

He moved into the aisle, expecting to find Jackson. Instead, he stopped, his gaze catching an open book on the floor. Slowly, he stepped closer, his heart sinking as he rounded the corner. There, on the ground, was Matt, lying face down and unconscious. Scott's eyes widened.

Behind him, Kylie had gotten up, walking forward, but Allison quickly pulled her back just as a shape moved above the shelves, shattering the lights above them. Kylie felt her wolf instinct surge, her eyes glowing as her claws came out instinctively. Scott, already sensing danger, shifted.

"Erica!" Scott yelled, the loud sounds of shattering bulbs echoing through the library as glass fell like rain. The chaos was disorienting. Stiles and Allison immediately covered Kylie, shielding her from the falling glass.
