mariyah's pov: jordan walked into my room looking out the window. "dont you just love it here?" she said running her finger along the dusty window sill. I took my shoes off and went over to the window and stood next to my sister. "I want to go home" I said starring out the window into the open sky. she grabbed my hand and looked at me "this is home now mariyah, weather you like it or not it is. you will get used to it soon enough. make great friends. and you wont even remember chicago." she said trying to make me feel better. I watched the sky longer not making a movement, thinking of how I would have to start all over. I wondered if any of my old friends remembered me. I thought of my childhood friend kailie and remembered all our memories. they brought a smile to my face and I pulled my hand away from jordan's grip quickly. "im going for a walk" i said as I pulled my shoes on once again. she grinned at me and left the room. I walked out of the house, to the car. my mom was having a phone call with uncle travis. I didnt bother telling her where I was going because its not like she cared anyways. I grabbed my longboard from the back seat and took off down the street. I knew exactly where I was going. I turned to corner on riverview and went down the road recognizing the neighborhood. at the end of the block I hopped off my longboard and looked at the big house. I went up to the door and thought about going back but then I knocked. a girl my age opened the door. she was a short girl but you could tell she was 16. she had the body of a model. small waist, but not gross. big butt, and average boobs. she was wearing sweatpants and a sports bra when she answered the door. "yes" she asked fixing her bun. I stood there looking slightly down at her "kailie" I asked not positive if it was her. she stepped outside. she looked confused and curious. "thats me. who are you" she said starring at my longboard. I smiled at her. "its mariyah" I said quietly. her eyes opened wide and a huge smile spread across her face. "what?!?" she said grabbing my arms. "yeah its me haha" I said as she hugged me. "oh my god what are you doing here? when did you get back? when are you going back home? how are you? oh my god its been forever!!" she said quickly, hardly stopping for a breathe. "I just got here literally. and im back for good. jordan wanted to come back so of course we did." I said annoyed at the thought of my mother doing anything jordan wanted. "are you serious?!? oh my god mariyah! im so happy youre home!" she said hugging my once more. I hugged her back softly, glad to know I had one friend still. a guy opened the door looking at us with his hypnotizing brown eyes. "babe, who's this?" he asked stepping outside starring at me. "this is mariyah, my friend from years ago." she said wrapping herself around his bicep. he extended his arm to shake my hand. "hey im matt." he said in a genuine voice with a perfect smile. I shook his hand and smiled at him. "do you want to come in" kailie asked claiming her boyfriend's arm once again. "I should probably get going. ill come by tomorrow if you want though" I said questioning. kailie nodded with a big smile, just as perfect as her boyfriend's. "come over right when you wake up!" she said opening the door. I nodded and took off road down the street back to the beach house with a smile on my face.
