"Are you sure about this?" I asked nervously my grip on Elle's hand tightening as I watched the kids around me shuffle readily.
"Are you always a whimp?" The brunette snapped back.
Damn.
"Excuse me, that is my boyfriend. Watch it." Elle retorted.
I blushed, I didn't know whether to be embarrassed or flattered over Elle "defending" me.
The girl rolled her eyes and continued scrawling on the chalkboard.
"Okay I have a question." I whispered to Elle.
"How is this happening right now? Like how? I mean how does nobody notice a band of like thirty kids in an empty classroom planning some intense revenge schemes. I mean three or so I get, but thirty? Is no one in this school doing their job?"
She chuckled.
"Knock it off! How do you expect to spill blood when you're out here giggling?" The girl whipped her head around.
"Spill blood? She's not serious right?" I whispered a little nervously.
"No of course not... I hope." She gulped under her breath.
"So how are we going to fit in the cupboard exactly?" A freckled girl in the back of the class piped up.
The brunette, Gabriela was it, pointed to a section of the blackboard with her ruler.
"The Hufflepuffs will be in the west wing. Move the brooms out of the cupboard so that you'll be in position to strike when needed."
"So then where are we going for the center targets?" A Ravenclaw boy asked.
"Well we've identified the main offenders as Ethan Rosier," she smacked the ruler over a crude stick figure with admittedly fantastic hair.
"His girlfriend Victoria Rowle," another stick figure who some how managed to look unbelievably annoying.
"Brock...does he have a last name? The big, greasy one, and Dylan Maccoby are the main henchmen. Pointing at a drawing of two rats.
I choked on a laugh.
"So Ravenclaws, you're going to break into the Slytherin common room's password system. If a bunch of dim witted snakes found a way I expect you certainly can."
The Ravenclaws in the room all swelled a little with pride as they began furiously taking notes and studying the board.
"Gryffindors, after the Ravenclaws launch the first attack it will be your job to go in and finish the job with force. Remember to stay alert and on guard incase any of the other troops' advances fail." She finished solemnly.
I leaned in to Elle.
"She does know this is a bunch of teenagers we're going to battle with and not the British Army, right?"
She shook her head and just whispered,
"I-I just don't know anymore."
"Like is this all necessary?" I asked.
"Well it'd be pretty hard to quit now don't you think." She gestured around the room.
Every head whipped towards the door as the soft clatter of footsteps were heard in the hall.
Gabi shushed everyone as we all waited for the footsteps to pass.
"Ok, we're good. Meeting adjourned. We all know the plan?"
Everyone nodded.
Uh nope, not in the slightest. I thought to myself.

"Ok you ready for this Jake?" Gabi poked me in the side.
We were standing flatly pressed against the wall of the staircase to the common room.
"I still don't know what we're doing." I confessed.
"Aw you'll be great kid." She slapped me on the back and stalked off down the stairs.
"Ouch."
I looked up at the clock above the door. The clock struck 1:00. One second, two seconds, three seconds passed before I heard the first scream.
I ran down the hall, wand at the ready.
"Put me down you idiots." A shrill voice   cried out angrily.
The common room door has been opened by the Ravenclaws after they managed to switch the passwords. Victoria was being held upside down and suspended midair. Gryffindors were jumping around her taunting and laughing.
"What the hell is going on out here?!" Ethan came dashing out of his room angrily.
"Hey how did you get in here? Put her down you morons before I call the headmistress!" He scowled.
Ravenclaws whipped around raising their wands in perfect sync.
"Woah, What-what are you doing? Put me down! Stop this! Stop it! You will regret this! My father will be contacting the school! Stop it this instant!" He screamed as they lifted him into the air. Other Slytherins came running out of their dorms.
"You better stop this right now. I don't know how you filthy mudbloods all got in here but if you leave now let's say this whole thing never happened and nobody gets hurt." Norman Avery chuckled menacingly.
"How about...." Gabi stroked her chin mockingly. "No." she scowled.
The Slytherins all bared their teeth in snarls, adjusting their stances to look as menacing as possible.
"Your choice nerd." Avery scowled.
"Good job meat head." She chuckled.
The room went silent, no one really knowing what to do next.
Suddenly without warning...Hufflepuffs.
Hufflepuffs running through doorways, popping out from behind book cases and furniture. Hufflepuffs letting out a war cry as they practically sprang up from the floorboards!
They held brightly coloured guns that began shooting rancid liquid, vinegar maybe.
"Get wrecked son!" One first year boy hollered above the Slytherins' screams.
What-what does that even mean?
Hufflepuffs, Gryffindors, and Ravenclaws alike banded together fighting with outrageous muggle war weapons.
As Ethan, Victoria, and a few others were suspended from the ceiling, kids began shooting a foaming substance from a can. Coating the horrified bullies in the sticky string.
Hufflepuffs being great finders had naturally found the best hiding places and continued to pop out of seemingly thin air. Slytherins were fleeing left and right, some first years were naturally allowed to escape but most older kids had fights to pick with someone on our side. Kids exacted revenge for things bullies had done years ago.
Someone had several rolls of sticky, grey, what was it? Goose tape? Chicken tape? Some kind of bird, the point is this stuff was scary.
More guns, again in wild colours, shot little soft bullets. Bows with arrows with suctioning "cups" at the tip, magical little cans that let off terrible noises with the push of a button, Ravenclaws were just pulling jinxes out of their...sleeves.
I had to admit that as crazy as it all was it was kind of awesome.
Although the Slytherins were cunning and smart they didn't have a very good sense of teamwork. I watched as blokes the size of tanks got brought down by groups of first year girls and so called friends abandon each other at the first sign of attack.
"Please don't." Someone whimpered.
I looked across the room.
A Ravenclaw girl was sitting on the floor, caked up into a corner by two guys my age.
I recognized them, knuckleheads that hung around with Avery and his groupies.
The little girl ducked into a ball.
Shit.
I started running towards her before I heard something heavy crash against the ground.
Eddie had knocked the two of their heads together and they were lying on the floor crying like babies.
He helped the girl up and must have told her to go back to her dorm. She ran out, a couple more flustered kids close behind her.
People had mostly started to clear out. Innocent Slytherins had left pretty much at the start, the "main targets" had been dealt with, and pretty much everyone else slowly getting more calm and chaos was dying down.
I made my way over to Ethan. He'd been gagged and was still hanging upside down.
"Not bad for a couple of stupid muggle borns huh?" I smirked.
He said something.
"Sorry what was that, I can't hear you. Cat got your tongue?" I asked innocently.
His face turned a delightful shade of purple.
"Oh come on now, I do like to play fair." I pulled the gag off his mouth.
He spat, aiming right for my face but luckily I moved in the nick of time.
He was practically seething with rage.
Beside him Victoria began making a whining noise, swaying her body to the best of her ability, asking to be freed as well.
"Oh I think I'll do everyone here a little favour and leave yours on." I replied.
"Look you little worm. Get us down from here now!" He threatened.
"And what, pray tell, will you do if I don't?" I laughed mockingly.
"Look I tried to help you fit in, you were never a real Slytherin anyway, but I made sure you at least acted the part. I did my best to be your friend Jacob. Who do you think kept you from being bullied all those years, who made sure you survived this school? It was me, all of it, me. You're nothing without me, it's already showing. What you think people are going to just let you roam these halls with your hand in hers, a stupid...disgusting..."
I punched him in the face.
His lip split and blood began slowly trickling down to his forehead and onto the floor.
"Fuck you Flint."
I stood there feeling the rage soak over my body, my heart was pounding, my head was throbbing.
"You're nothing but a worthless loser."
"Hey Ethan, I'm not a mirror, watch it."
"Oh shut up you little prat, you honestly could have been something, something better than what you were destined for. But instead, instead you chose this. I hope you're happy."
"Oh believe me," I bent down to be inches away from his stupid face.
"I am."
I whipped around and marched off. Making sure he got the perfect view I grabbed Elle's wrist and pulled her in. My hands found her waist and held on for dear life. It was probably the longest kiss we'd ever had, and it was on full display.
"What was that for?" She asked stunned. "I mean, I'm not complaining, just curious."
"What? A little kiss amidst all the carnage. I'm trying to be romantic." I chuckled, looking down at her goofily.
"Well who am I to stand in the way of romance?" She giggled.
I lifted her chin and kissed her again.
She really was perfect.
Screw my so called fate and destiny. Who gives a shit about all the things I "could have been" and could have done.
I was with Elle now, and it was honestly better than anything anyone else could have given me.
