Chapter 1- What Just Happened?
(After)
EUN MI
Looks like I’ve already made it. Money, businesses, houses, hotels, cars, and MORE! In a matter of three-or-so years, a whole future was waiting. But seems like I’ve already lived my whole lifetime.
The mall was packed, the crowd bustling with anxiety to get their hands on designer sale items. Well I, like every week, checks on business here, and so far so great! The sale idea was quite efficient along with supplies offers up by 50%. But there was one thing troubling me. I still haven’t gotten any reply to my offer with YG entertainment.
I fooled around in a store, looking at a mirror while posing around with the outfit. The clerk seemed to follow me around nervously. “Kim Wa-jang-ssi, um… er, this person… she says she knows you. She’s kinda tall, straight, black hair, and is ready to knock down the door. Well, I didn’t want to let her in s-since she m-might be lying… and you know….” The clerk stuttered as she looked down. For some reason, it gets me questioning the fact that they get so scared of me.
I picked up another top and placed it in front of me. “Ne. And who may this person say they were?” I looked up from where I stood and already knew it was the person with the perky attitude. “Ah…. Young Ah.” I bit my lip looking back at the clerk. Her well-constructed, pink uniform was a little untidy, along with her slyly fixing her bun.
She tapped her foot nervously. “So… should I open it for her…?” She gazed up on me with her frightened pixie eyes.
Ducking down, I scrunched my nose. I wanted to say no really bad. ‘No’ that’s all it would take to say; so opening my mouth, “Yes, let her in.” What the hell? Did that just come out? “Wait a sec. Um; you know you don’t have to be so afraid of me. If you like, I prefer that you call me Eun Mi.”
“Ye, Wa-jang- - um, Eun Mi.” She bowed her head in response as she disappeared through the aisles. From behind, I heard the click sound of the lock being unlatched.
I have no idea in what might be waiting for me. Looking over towards the door, she stood there, her face pressed onto the glass with her arms outstretched over her head, signifying that she needed to get in. Idiot. She should know that I don’t like being bothered in the middle of shopping. Alone. Then the clerk hesitated as she pulled open the doors.
A set of heels clacked against the tile floor of the store, heading towards me. “Eun-ni!” Her breath was fast, as she paced herself towards me. I can’t believe she still calls me the nickname she made due to its similarity with ‘eon-ni’. “Why didn’t you tell me you were shopping?!” Here she goes again.
I wonder if she ever got the feeling that I wanted to be alone. “Well, I guess I’m leaving.” Knowing she would trail me. The others who worked in my store opened the glass doors and bowed. “Kamsahamnida! You’ve worked hard.”
The sunlight was blinding, the afternoon wind seemed to swell in Seoul. I threw on my glasses. “Iya!! Eun-ni!! Jamkkan man-yo! (Wait)” the sound of her heels were inching closer and closer. “Eun-ni!” I wonder how she still hasn’t gotten my message.
“If you have nothing important to say, don’t bother me!” I called back out, almost into a light jog. We were going to meet up at the studio anyway, and for some reason this conversation couldn’t wait.
“Eun-ni!!!!! Please!” she was already panting behind me while trying to walk in the busy streets of Seoul. It was way different from the less busy suburbs of the U.S.
