Chapter 3- Crossing Roads
EUN MI
Was it me or was it the guy I knocked down yesterday? No. It can't be.
The elevators closed before the stupid got to me. Looking down the mounts of pink fabric, my feet were pale white, but outlined with the red lines that my heels left for me. Great. I watched the view as it ascended upwards, forty-three, forty-four.... it chimed. Fiftieth floor. Dance time.
The music swelled form the inside, sending little bolts of electricity throughout, giving me a hint of excitement of new techniques that we might be learning today. Passing through the graffitied hall, I watched as it diverged into two separate rooms. One room, lit up by the luminescent light, the other coming from the big windows.
"Aiisii. Someone seems to be taking their sweet god damn time to actually get here!" Kai resumed his little fiasco on the piano. "Nuna I can't believe you can play princess before all your other important jobs." Motioning to the dress.
"Dongsaeng, you shouldn't be saying anything! Instead of going to a business trip with me, you decided that you fool around with those prancing ninnies," moving towards the closet behind the dance mirrors.
"Iya, Tiffany is not a ninny! She actually cares!" the piano chair scratched against the stage floor.
"Cares about your paycheck, that's what." looking at the clothes, I couldn't find my bag. "Anyone see my bag? I seem to have misplaced it."
"Aniyo. Unnie, did you check the locker room, it might be there." Young Ah was on her stomach, her legs wagging around as she flipped through a magazine.
"Well ok. Since you guys are doing nothing, warm-ups. Now."
"Ne."
"Ne." Young Ah sighed, but I didn't hear Yoo Jin say anything.
He stared at the window, the whole city bright and loud. "Ahem." Trying to catch his attention.
"I heard you the first time." Never taking his eyes of what might've been outside.
Was he ok?
JI WOO
"Hyung, what are you staring at?" Woo Young stood behind me, placing his hand on my shoulder. He tried to look at the same direction, thinking that he would actually see what I've seen.
"Its nothing." Blinking my eyes twice, trying to get a hold of myself.
"Well whatever it was-"
"Dorks! Are you coming or what?" Ki Bum called out; he and the others were already in the elevators waiting.
"Hyung, lets go." Woo young tugged on my arm.
"Ne." he dragged me along.
Just awhile on the elevator, it seemed as if was some sort of museum. Everybody, including me, was pondering over the cool things inside the building. The guide just seemed to drift away with her explanation, but the whole group split up and ran around the levels.
My phone buzzed.
M. Kang: Eo-di-e? We're bout' to go meet your instructors
Me: Now? We just started to have fun.
M. Kang: Now.
"Iya. Its time to go. Maknae hands off the food! Its not yours!" Ki Bum was starting to peel Woo Young from the buffet. "Ka!"
