CHAPTER 6- PROJECT HIKE
EUN MI
I really don’t know if it was necessary for Yang to schedule a hike. It was five in the morning, what could he possibly have in stock for his tortured ex-members? Even I don’t understand his methods sometimes but his seal seemed legit. Just imagine what the other members of this company went through. I wonder what I will go through!
“Eun Mi, wake up. I need you to work early today.” He called me.
I wonder if I sounded presentable enough for him. “Mhmm. Wghat job… Team… ah… Night-night…”
“Eun Mi! Don’t make me take away your job!” He yelled at the phone.
My head jolted up. “I’m awake! I’m awake! Um… What project is it this time? Um… can you repeat what you just said?”
“Take the team on a hike. Have a little downtime with them, they seem a little edge. Especially that Ji Woo. He is out of his mind and any distraction can help him I think.” He sighed, “he has the worst problems of all of the members.”
“But wajangnim, why couldn’t we just settle a friendly dinner instead? All of the members can bond. Maybe they can even-”
“Trust me, that won’t work. Now wake them up and get them packing! I expect you guys to come back by midnight. Good Luck!” before I could argue, he hung up the phone.
“Aisii. Give me a chance wajangnim!” I said to myself. If only I could speak to him like that. I messed around with my hair, scratching it and frizzing it around.
Getting out of bed was my most hated part of the day. I dragged my feet onto the tile floors, and took out my backpack and started stuffing water bottles and shirts into it. Next stop was waking up the group.
---
After all preparations, we waited right at the park. The endless amount of sunlight, heat, and trees were waiting for us, and getting lost was one of them.
I played leader and passed out the maps, pointing to whatever direction we should go towards. Then Kai spoke out.
“Wait, wait, wait. Wait a second now. Didn’t Yang say we have to split up in two’s? To make it fair, why don’t we draw names! Let’s make this fun why don’t we?”
Baekho was behind me and whispered in my ear, “I hope we’re partners.” He gave a small wink at me, warming my cheeks up a bit.
I look over to the side and see Ji Woo making faces. “Ew.” What was his problem? I hope I don’t get partnered up with him.
First one’s up, Kai went up and picked from the hat. “Hyun Ki!” Both of them smiled and let out a chuckle with a little handshake.
Second one came up was Ki Bum. He let out a sideways smile and looked directly at the faux-styled guy. “Tae. It’s a pleasure to work with you buddy.” Tae put his hand on Ki’s shoulder. They both laughed at the corny comment. In my mind, I was still praying that I was going to get Baekho, knowing that I had a crush on him. But I still, in no doubt don’t want to admit it.
“Baby girl you’re up.” We all waited for Young Ah. She jumped up and down clapping her hands while she managed to jump the maknae. “Woo Young!!” He sighed, shaking his head. Now it was the four of us left. Damn. Either I’ve got Oppa, Baekho, or Ji Woo.
