"Well, I gotta go boy." I smile at a horse, coal, and exit his stall. I walk out into the night and jump up onto a wooden fence, I just watch the horses grazing in the paddock/pasture, peacefully.
it's nice here at heartland.
I smile as I see some geldings (likely) playing with each other.
After a while I notice a shape in one of the paddocks. I squint my eyes and see it's a human figure, they're just sitting on the ground. After a while, my eyes adjust a bit and see that it's...Amy? What is she doing out here. In the middle of a paddock?
I see a horse walk up to her, and she reaches up and strokes his nose. I think it's her horse, Spartan, but I'm not to sure.
Anyway, I turn my attention back to the horses in front of me. I smile as I watch a bay nuzzle a chestnut, they look so cute.
*BANG*
i jump, almost falling off the fence when I here the bang, like a tin being hit against something.
What was that sound?
I look up and I realise one of the horses is on the ground, I gasp and jump down without thinking, I sprint towards the horses. I slow down as I near them, I see Amy's already there, with the horses head in her lap.
I kneel down. "Wh-what happened?" I stutter stroking the horses bay neck with fear in my eyes.
"I-I don't know. I was with Spartan.....I heard hoofs then the gun shot. Can you please go and find my grandpa? he'd be reading in the house likely." Amy chokes out, I nod and jump up quietly, then I jog back toward the house.
...
I throw the door open.
Jack looks up at me, startled. I look at him and blurt out, "Ahorsewasshotandislikelydyingandamyiswiththehorsetheyareinthepasture." Then take a deep breath.
"Well slow down, say that again." Jack says, putting his reading glasses away.
"Uh. A horse was shot and is likely dying. Amy is with the horse. They are in the pasture." I say slower.
He nods and gets up, grabs his shotgun and runs out.
Ty runs down with a toddler in his hands. "What happened?" He asks.
"Uh. A horse was shot. Amy is with him." I reply. He nods and runs out the door after Jack.
I walk back out of the house and watch from a distance as they crowd around the horse.
Then I head to the barn, so I can seek comfort by coal, the horse I've taken a liking to, but what I see shocked me so much...............

All the stall doors are open and empty, every single one, even the paddocks surrounding the barn, the paddock Amy and co are in is to far away. I hear a soft engine noise so snap my head up from looking into coals empty stall to see a truck speed into the night with a horse box, down a paddock.
I gasp.
I run out of the barn and into the paddock, where everyone now is.
"Hey." I breathe. No one hears me.
"Hey!" I shout, panicked. They look up at me. "I-I just went into the barn and t-the horses are gone, s-same with the other paddocks. i-i just saw a black Toyota and box go into the paddocks" I stutter out.
"What!" Amy panics. Everyone starts panicking. Everyone except Jack, who sighs and shakes his head.
"What are we going to do? " Lou starts, while everyone is still in shock.
"See what I have to deal with?" Jack mumbles as Lou begins to ramble.
"No horses equals no money, no money equals-"
"Lou, calm down, Okay. Everyone calm down. We need to do something.......I want Ty and Georgie to stay with the horses, Lou to call the police and also Scott if you can get a hold of him. Amy and I will saddle some of these horses. Tara do you want to come with us?" Jack says, gesturing to the horses.
I shrug and follow them into the barn, we check for any horses left behind them grab some halters and lead ropes (head collars and lead lines) and run out into the field.
"Okay. Grandpa you can take Mickie, the bay. Uh, I'll take spook, the chestnut, you can ride, can't you Tara?" Amy says. I nod so she says, "perfect, can you please take Fred, the liver chestnut over there?" I nod again and walk to him.
"Hey boy. We're going for a ride!" I say slipping on the halter and doing it up.
"Ok, we don't have time to saddle them, just do the lead up so its your reins then hop on." Amy says so I do, once it secure it I grab a handful of mane and pull myself up.
I notice Amy and jack are already on.
"Okay, what direction did you see them go in?" Jack asks.
"That way" I point to a pasture and we spot tire marks so we Trott towards them.

Ty's P.O.V
"And...Done!" I finish as I rap the bandage around the horses stomach, I don't know how this horse survived, but it did!. Scott is out of town and couldn't come.
"Ok, Georgie can you take the horse into the barn, I'm going to grab a horse and go after Amy and the others." I say and Georgie nods and takes the horse.
I run and grab a bridle then run back to the horses, I grab twinkle, a flaxen chestnut and put the bridle on, then I get on and Georgie runs out and hands me three torches/flashlights, I thank her and send her inside. I ride on the direction Amy and the others went. Lou and Lisa are looking after Katie (even though she claims she doesn't need a baby sitter), Karl and Melody.
