Chapter 11: The Badge, Burden, and Roles

No Date Velvet Room Evening

The sight of ones vision came clear from the dark and view Igor and the Velvet Room attendants. "Welcome. Do not be alarmed. You are fast asleep in the real world... I have summoned you within your dreams." Igor rest assured. "It seems that you three are now well acquainted." He replied to them, "Acquainted? Who're you referring... To...?" Ragna and Ruby asked as they both turned their head to the left. Apparently Yu looked to both Ragna and Ruby as to that question too. "Ahh...! Y-Yu!?" They shouted out in shock, "R-Ragna-Senpai and Ruby-Chan!" Yu replied with surprise. "So then... You two really do have the same ability." He noticed, "Same... Ability? Hun." Ragna reply, "You mean that... 'Persona' Semblance... Thing?" Ruby guessed but her and Ragna turned their heads back to the Velvet Room attendance for questions. "Do not be alarmed. You are fast asleep in the real world... I have summoned you within your dreams. And so we meet again." Igor interjected. Ragna and Ruby wasn't pleased to hear that. It seems the three have been summoned to the Velvet Room. "Uhh..." Was all Ragna and Ruby could say, "This is a space that only those who have, in one way or another, entered into a contract may enter." Margaret explained. "In both you two daily life, you guys subconsciously heard the call to awaken, and you both chose to follow the destiny of your inner voice... There by enacting your glorious awakening to your power." She explained to them, "Awakening...?" Ragna and Ruby both asked, "Hold on to this." Theo and Sammie requested as they came over to their side and handed them a key each. "From this night forth, you are our guest in this Velvet Room. Both of your destiny will require you two to hone you guys power, and for that, you two will inevitably require our help." Igor continued. "There is but one price for this assistance: You. Come, two must abide by both of you guys contract and assume responsibility for all decisions you two may make." He explain to the two, "... Sorry, we still don't understand this..." Ragna sigh and Ruby moped, both of them trying to understand. "... That is fine, for now. The Personas you two have acquired, it is a side of you two that shows itself when you both face the world around the both of you. Perhaps you two can think of it as... A facade of determination you guys wear to face various difficulties in life." Sammie explained. "The two of you Persona ability, however, is that of the wild card. Compared to that of others, it is very special. It is like the number zero: empty, yet holding infinite potential within itself. The Persona ability is the power to control one's own heart, and the heart is strengthened through bonds. As you two form bonds by becoming involved with others." She explain. As both Ragna and Ruby continues to think hard about it, Yu recalls what he experience. "Think of it as making friends, the power of bond is what strengthens y'all's wild card ability." He added in the conversation. "Which also allows you both to use more than one Persona." He mention. After hearing that Ragna seemed to understand what Yu was talking about, but despite Ruby's disbelief, she seems to gotten a somewhat of an idea. "Uhh... So let me get this straight, if me and Ragna make new friends and strengthen them by having a nice chat, that actually makes our Persona ability stronger?" She questioned. "Yes, they are necessary for more than strengthening both of you guys Persona. At times, they will help light the way through you two journey." Margaret answered. "Where will your awakened power of the wild card take you both...? I look forward to traveling the road of your destiny together. *chuckle* 'Til we meet again..." Igor finished as their guests' visions dwindled into black.

4/13 Beacon Academy Morning

In the Cafeteria, Team RJHN, Team TMHK, Team SNNL, Team NYCA, and Team KRST were eating their breakfast... Although, Ragna, Yosuke, Kanji, Kurogane, and Teddie were worn out for some apparent reason. "Uh... Geez... Classes starting right after yesterday..." Yosuke yawned, "Well... Some combat schools are like that." Kurogane said as Ragna nodded his head. "I don't think we have any homework to do for our first day..." Yukiko mentioned, "The first day of classes are 1st years' orientation. We shouldn't have any problems for any classwork." Shirogane included as she and the others turned to the costume-less Teddie, now wearing a Yasogami Uniform. Teddie felt silent as he whimpered as he has a black eye. "Luckly, we can wear our school uniforms for the remainder of the school year." She added, "Say Ragna-Senpai, Saya-Chan, and Tsubaki-San, you guys and y'all team's school uniforms look nice. Where y'all get them?" Yukiko asked, "Oh these? Well to be honest, me, Makoto, Noel, and Tsubaki went to a combat school called the Military Academy. After that we kept our uniforms." Jin explain to her as he checked his glasses, "Is just that... We got more for our team members." Tsubaki mention, "Oh... Okay, that's great." Yukiko reply with a small smile. Teddie still continues to moped, which annoys his team and Tsubaki's team a little more. "Geez, the hell's up with you, Ted?" Kagura had asked him, "Nnngh... Why can't we sleep with our Team? I mean, aren't we on the same Team?" Teddie questioned, "My boy, after last night, what did you think!?" Ragna retorted.
