Valeria
I haven't seen Tony in three days. He doesn't come out of our bedroom. I've successfully avoided Aria.
I sat in the middle of the bed and looked down at the ring on my finger.
On one hand, I want to take it off and throw it at Tony and on the other, I can't bare taking it off.
I'm so hurt because neither of them told me. They both looked me in the face, knowing that they've been together.
I heard a knock at the door.
"Valeria, please talk to me."
"Go away, Aria."
"I'm so sorry. I wanted to tell you like a million times, but I was afraid."
I yanked the door open.
"I told you every single thing about me. I've told you my deepest darkest secrets. I've told you details about my relationship with Tony. You were the one person I could come to and talk about anything with, yet you didn't tell me you slept with my fiancé."
"It was before we met you. We were together for a month before I realized that he wasn't the one for me. I didn't tell you because I saw how hard you were falling for him. I didn't want to ruin your happiness."
"Aria, leave."
She nodded and I closed the door.
On my way back to my bed, there was another knock on the door.
"I said go away, Aria."
"It's me."
I turned around as I heard the familiar deep voice. It made me feel butterflies as if it was the first time I heard it.
"Tony?"
"Valeria, please. I need to see you. I-I need you."
I needed him too. I opened the door.
I could tell that he was tired. I noticed the bags under his eyes and his unkempt hair.
He stared down at me.
"Can I please hold you?"
I nodded.
He wrapped his arms around me.
As soon as we touched, I could feel the electricity surge between the two of us.
"I'm so sorry. I should've told you. I miss you so much."
"I miss you too."
"Come on. I want to take you somewhere."
He turned me around and placed a blindfold on my eyes.
"Where are we going?"
"It's a surprise, princess."
He picked me up and began carrying me.
Soon after, I felt cool wind on my skin.
"We're almost there."
A few minutes later, I was being placed on my feet.
Tony removed the blindfold.
We were at the creek. It looked even more beautiful at night.
I turned to see a blanket and pillows behind us. Candles surrounded us.
"Come."
He grabbed my hand and helped me lie down.
I cuddled into his chest.
"I love you. I'm always going to love you, Valeria. I have a past. I've been with other woman, but they'll never compete with you."
"How many woman have you been with?"
"Valeria."
"I need to know."
"I've been with 12 woman before you."
I nodded slowly.
"So, I'm lucky number 13."
He looked down at me and studied my face.
"How many men were you with before me?"
"One."
"You've only been with Alexei."
"I wasn't allowed to date."
He nodded as he caressed my cheek.
"Do me a favor."
"What?"
"Forgive Aria. We wanted to tell you."
"I need more time."
"So, you don't forgive me."
"I don't know."
"What can I do?"
"When you got shot, you promised that we'll go on a trip. Just you and me. I just want to be alone with you."
"I want that too. I'm going to take you to my cabin upstate. Just us, baby."
"When?"
He dialed a number.
"Pack a bag for Valeria and I. I'm taking her to the cabin. Have a car come get us."
He hung up.
"Today."
Tony
By the time we got back to the house, our car was ready.
We grabbed our bags and then got in the SUV that Bruno arranged for us.
"How many women have been to this cabin?"
"You'll be the first."
I looked down at her and she pecked my cheek.
She gave me a small smile and then placed her head on my chest.
Maybe there is hope for us.
