A/N: Hey! This is the last part of this book, I feel it has come to a natural end and I can't take it any further, BUT, I'm already writing another Simon book because why the hell not. Anyways, I hope you've enjoyed this? I've enjoyed writing it, and I know hiddlesbatchers  has particularly enjoyed it 😏 Thanks for reading :)

Simon's POV :3

Enjoy x

The vet chuckles as he exams our seemingly ill cat which causes Dee to frown, redness coming into her normally pale cheeks.

"Tell me where you found this cat again?" The vet leans against the polished worktop, arms folded against her chest.

"Uh, the shelter? Five miles west from here?" Delilah hesitates nervously, tentatively stroking behind Mellow's ears.

"Right..." The vet trails off. "And what gender did they tell you the cat was?"

Dee shrugs. "They didn't?"

"They didn't?" I query, nudging her shoulder with mine.

She shakes her head, confused as to why it matters.

"Are you kidding me?!" I burst out, finding this situation extremely funny, it's obvious what has happened, and I'm eagerly waiting for it to click in Delilah's brain.

"What? I just assumed he was a boy?" Dee looks down with embarrassment and I wrap my arm around her shoulders and pull her into my chest.

"You really are silly sometimes." I whisper into her hair.

"I think your cat is actually a female... And this female is expecting a litter very soon."

Dee gasps, "What? No. No that's not possible?"

I find myself laughing at how adorably innocent she is and wait for the vet to ask her the next question, "Have you any other cats? A male perhaps?"

Delilah doesn't answer the question, instead she throws her arms around in shock, "No! It's honestly just not possible... There must be something else wrong!" She notices me laughing and punches my arm, "God, I'm such an idiot.."

I turn to face her and take her small hands in mine, "Dee Dee, are you not hearing this? Mellow is having bloody kittens!" I grin. Despite having owned many many cats throughout my life, I've never experienced a cat having a litter, and I'm really excited.

Her frown quickly turns into a smile, my positive attitude clearly rubbing off on her. Having said that, she hasn't been herself recently, constantly stressed and on edge. "Kittens?" She whispers, eyes dancing.

"Kittens." I confer, spinning round quickly to look at the vet straight in the eye, "Can we take her home?"

:-:-:-:

So Mellow isn't a he, instead a she, and Marlo is about to become a father. I can hardly believe it, and neither can Delilah, she's practically dancing round the house whilst doing menial tasks like hoovering of emptying the dishwasher, there's always a spring in her step, which makes a nice change considering her mood has been dismal this week.

I'm sat on the sofa playing with the cats whilst Dee is singing to herself in the kitchen. I grin whilst throwing the crumpled up foil ball around the floor and watching as the cats swipe at the small object intensely. I honestly don't think I've ever felt so secure and happy until this moment, with my smiling fiancée and our parents-to-be cats. Unbelievable.

Delilah walks into the living room carrying two mugs of tea. She passes one to me, beaming.

"Someone's happy." I crawl up against her and rest my head in her lap, relaxed as she starts to play with my hair.

She hums in response, fingers entwined in my curly mop of straggly hair, side note, I definitely need a haircut.

"What do you fancy doing this weekend?" I ask her, tilting up my chin and peering up into her eyes.

She shrugs, "What do you want to do?"

"Don't mind." I reply simply.

"How about... Nothing? We've both been crazy busy these past few weeks, it'd be nice to have a weekend to ourselves."

I agree wholeheartedly, recently we haven't had many weekends to ourselves and we definitely deserve one, what with all the band stuff, Sian's wedding and Dee's book business. It has been hectic, but we are well adapted to hectic.

"We should go to the garden centre, pick up some bits- It's going to be hot next week." Dee suggests, staring out of the window and looking at the garden, which we've never made use of, despite it being lovely.

"Yeah, I'd like that." I kick my feet up onto the arm of the sofa, struggling for room because of my height. "What are we going to do about these kittens?" If I could, I'd keep every single one of them and raise a tiny cat army and train them to do all kinds of crazy shit. I could take them to Crufts... Isn't that for dogs though?

"There's no way we can keep them all." She shakes her head. "We should give them away, I know Martha said she'd like one."

I'm disappointed. "Could we just keep one? Please?"

Delilah eyes me suspiciously, tongue between her teeth.

"Pleeeeeeease." I beg, turning round to face her.

She rolls her eyes and inhales deeply. "Fine."

I grin and reach up to place a delicate kiss on her lips, before returning to my previous position.

"I still can't believe our cats are going to be parents." I chuckle, shaking my head in disbelief. In the midst of our busy lives, we must've failed to notice that our two cats had a little thing going on, I feel like a total oblivious moron. Shouldn't it have been blatantly obvious? When I told Peanut this he wasn't even shocked and said that in general, I'm just an oblivious person, which I took with a pinch of salt considering he dropped his camera last Tuesday and has been in a sour mood ever since.

Dee smiles, and kisses my forehead, "Well," she begins, eyes dancing, "they're not the only ones."

I gaze up at her, confused, but when I see the coy grin creeping onto her face, I realise what she's talking about.

I gasp. "You're not-" I can't even finish the sentence because we're both smiling to hard and loving too much and my God does our future look bright.
