Chaewon POV:
Jeon Jungkook.
The name sounded vaguely familiar to me, but I really don't remember when or where I met a person called Jeon Jungkook. I squinted my eyes and took a closer look at his undeniably handsome features. I closed them as I started wringing the life out of my brain. I shook my head, I'm probably thinking about nonsense again, I thought to myself.
"Thank you Jungkook, that was very nicely done." Ms. Jung said in her annoyingly high pitched voice, "Stop by my office after class today, I'll let Chaewon show you around school." She scoffed at me once again before smiling sweetly at Jungkook.
"Shesus... why me?" I groaned.
"So that you won't ride the elevator ever again. When will you learn your lesson!?" Ms. Jung snapped back as she got angry again.
"Yes, yes, seonsaengnim." I agreed unwillingly.
"Don't worry, I won't trouble you too much." Jungkook whispered to me. I stiffened, since he leaned so close to me I could hear his breathing.
I scooched my chair away from him, "Ahem... whatever..."
Awkward, I thought.
The first day of school was a blur. During lunch, I scanned the cafeteria to sit with my boyfriend, Seokjin, because I couldn't find Dawon. I ended up sitting by myself because Seokjin wasn't here either. The rest of my classes blurred by, and I found myself in my last period; AP World History. I've been really good at history ever since I was young, so I barely listened.
The teacher caught me watching Suspicious Partner on my phone.
"Chaewon, since you're not listening, I'll assume that you already know the answers?" Mr. Kang asked, "When did the Salem Witch Trials take place?"
"1692." I answered without even hesitating. I looked up and found myself satisfied with his pretty astonished face.
Mr. Kang continued to ask me questions, "When did the French and Indian war end?"
"1763." I said with boredom in my voice.
"Napoleonic Wars." He wasn't going to give up.
"1803 to 1815." This is so easy, I thought
"Wars of the Roses." He continued
"1455 to 1486. Mr. Kang, have I proven myself yet?" I was starting to get annoyed.
"Umm... Actually, the War of the Roses ended in 1485, not '86..." A voice said. I looked to where the voice came from. Jeon Jungkook.
"Ha!" said Mr. Kang, "Maybe you're not the best at remembering dates."
I was starting to get mad, my face was burning, and I shot a look at Jungkook.
"There will be a date quiz next week everyone, so remember to revise!" Mr. Kang shouted as the bell rang.
When class was over, I packed my bag and stormed out of the classroom.
"Wait, Chaewon! You're still showing me around the school right?" Jungkook asked just as I was going to go out the door.
Bullshit, I thought, like I'd want to show him around after he embarrassed me in front of the class. Why does he have to remember?
"Umm... Yeah, sure, meet me in Ms. Jung's office," I lied.
I ran out of the classroom. Why is Jungkook so clingy? He's so weird... I thought. Ms. Jung is a scary teacher, but there is no way I'm showing a freak around the school today. I walked out of school and got on the bus. I sat down and put my feet on the seat beside me so no one could sit next to me. I got out my wallet and counted how much money I had left. 15 dollars, just enough to buy a bouquet of flowers for mom. It was my mom's death anniversary and I was going to go visit her in the cemetery. I took out my earphones and turned up the volume as the bus engine started roaring again.
"Can I sit here? There are no other seats available."
I looked up and saw that it was Jungkook. I did a quick neck roll (which resulted in a satisfying crack), huffed out a sigh, and continued to listen to my music.
"You didn't show me around the school, and I'm not even asking for an apology. All the seats on the bus are already taken except for this one, can I just sit here? I'm getting off very soon," Jungkook said, getting angry.
By the time he was finished, some other kids were looking at me. Starting to feel a little guilty, I decided to loosen up.
"Fine, I'm only giving you this seat because you said you're getting off soon," I said as I moved my feet away and let him sit down.
"Are you going back to home?" Jungkook asked. Great, he was trying to start a conversation.
"No I'm going to a flower shop nearby," I replied. After a short pause I added, " I'm visiting my mother's grave."
"Oh, what a coincidence! I'm also visiting someone at the cemetery. I still need to buy flowers but I don't know where to get them, can I just follow you?" Jungkook asked, "Sorry about your mom by the way."
"Yeah whatever, thanks." Maybe he isn't as bad as I think he is.
"I'll take that as a yes then?" He smiled.
I grinned back.
