Chaewon POV:

I closed the door behind me as I got back home. Why did Jungkook have to be so handsome? The way he speaks is different from other people. His words sounded genuine and sincere, and it made me happy, a feeling I haven't felt anytime recent.

I went upstairs into my room still thinking about what happened in the cemetery this afternoon. Flopping onto my comfy bed, the first thing I did was dial abeoji's number. I listened to the ringtone and waited, disappointed when it automatically went to voicemail.

I wonder why he's not picking up.

He didn't even tell me that he was leaving for 2 months. I didn't want to, but I couldn't help thinking if what Jiyong said really true. Does he really not love me anymore? Just as I was about to spiral into my montage of depressing thoughts, a call came in. The caller ID showed that it was Dawon. I picked my phone up like the Flash.

"KIM DAWON!!" I half-yelled into the phone, "Where were you during school today? I didn't see you around."

"Oh... sorry 'bout that, I got a fever. I was going to text you but I fell asleep. How was school today, my dearest best friend?" she said before throwing herself into a coughing fit.

"Eh, it was boring. There was this new kid, but nothing really special. Get well soon darling," I said.

Since when did my Dawonnie get sick so easily? The girl's tough like a rock. Last time I remember her being sick was all the way back in 7th grade...

"Hehe," she chuckled, "Thanks, I'll try."

My phone rang again in the middle of our call and I looked at the caller ID: ♡Seokjinnie♡.

"Just a sec Dawon, Jin is calling me, I'll call you back later if I have time okay? Get some rest."

After I hanged up on her end, I picked up Seokjin's call.

"Hi Chaewonnie!" he said cheerfully, "I forgot my phone at home today, and I just saw your missed call from this morning. I'm so sorry, were you late to school?"

"Yeah, but it's okay. Just remember to bring your phone next time," I said with a smile on my face.

"We don't have any classes together this year, I'm so sad," he said.

"I know."

I was also disappointed. Seokjin and I had almost every single class together last year. That was how we got so close and started dating.

I change the topic, "Where were you at lunch today? I couldn't find you."

"Oh, I was busy and I had to help my math teacher with something. Sorry babe," he replied.

"Nah it's fine. Jiyong is calling me from downstairs to make dinner so I have to go. Talk to you later!" I said while hanging up and rushing downstairs at the same time.

"Ya, Chaewon, come downstairs!" Jiyong shouted again as soon as I hung up with Seokjin.

"Eomeoni, you don't have to be so mean to her." said my stepbrother.

I blinked a couple times when I saw him, since I didn't expect to be home. Dang, why does no one tell me about their schedule nowadays? First dad, now him.

Unlike Jiyong, Yoongi oppa is actually nice and he usually communicated with me quite clearly. We were close for stepsiblings, almost as close as real ones, if not, closer.
