The Runaway Princess

Chapter 1

Hi, I'm Poppy, the princess of the Troll Kingdom. My mother died when I was a baby, but I still have my dad, King Peppy. The kingdom was cheerful & colorful. My people loved nothing more than to sing, dance & hug, they treat each other like a family more than friends. As much as I love my people, I don't like spending the rest of my life here. My dream is to leave the kingdom & explore the world. Problem is, I can't because my dad always said that the world isn't safe. He doesn't know that because he never leaves the kingdom. I'm old enough to make my own decisions, but he never wants to listen to me. If my mom was here, she would allow me go see the world. These days, I hope things don't take a weird turn. But one day, I will go explore the world & see what's out there.

Later that afternoon

I was in my room looking at the mountain outside my window. The view was just so beautiful, that it feels so close. I wish my father would understand that I'm not going to be his little girl anymore.

?: Hey, Poppy!

Poppy: Hey, guys!

These are my friends, Biggie, Cooper, Smidge, Guy Diamond, Satin, Chenille, Fuzzbert, & DJ Suki. I call them the Snack Pack. DJ Suki is the kingdom's DJ & my best friend, Satin & Chenille are twin sister & total fashionistas, they even made most of the clothes I wear, Fuzzbert is not much of a talker but he makes sounds that are easy to understand, Smidge is the strongest troll in the kingdom, despite her size, Biggie is the most lovable troll with his adorable glow worm, Mr. Dinkles, Guy Diamond is one of the glitter trolls in the kingdom. I find it weird that they can make glitter come out of their butts, but I guess that's how they are. As for Cooper, he's a bit different from the other trolls. He's in the form a llama, but he's still a troll.

DJ: How did it go with you and your dad?

Poppy: Same as always. *sighs* He's never gonna listen to me.

Satin: Cheer up, darling. You still have us.

Chenille: Yea, we've been there for you since day one.

Poppy: Thanks, guys.

Biggie: Your dad will understand.

Smidge: He should. She's his daughter.

Poppy: Hey, guys. Do you think I can be alone for the rest of the day? I need to think.

Cooper: Sure thing, Pops.

Guy Diamond: Let's go, guys.

Poppy: *hugs her back* Hey, May. I thought you were hanging out with Nick.

May: Yea, but his cousin got him grounded.

Poppy: Again?

May: Yup.

This is my little sister May. Me & dad found her as a baby. It turned out that her parents didn't want to keep her, so they dropped her off at the palace. Everyday, we have gotten closer & closer like real sisters. She may be five years old, but she's one of my biggest supporters & I just love her to death.

May: I guess the talk with daddy didn't go so well.

Poppy: No, it didn't. Like it even matters, anyway.

May: What are you gonna do now?

Poppy: I don't know, but I'll think of something.

Knock Knock

Poppy: Come on.

One of my maids walked in. Her name is Snowbell.

Snowbell: I'm sorry to interrupt, princess. But, your father wants to see you.

Poppy: About what?

Snowbell: You're going to have to ask him. He's in the throne room right now.

Poppy: Alright. *thinks: What's this about now?*

At the throne room

Poppy: Dad, you wanted to see me?

King Peppy: Yes, I did. Come in, Creek.

Poppy: *thinks: Creek?*

The door opens & a troll with purple skin with blue & green hair came in.

Poppy: Dad, who is this?

King Peppy: This is Creek, he's a prince from another kingdom.

Creek: Pleasure to meet you, princess. *bows*

Poppy: As to you. But, what's this about?

King Peppy: Poppy, in a three days, you & Creek are going to be married.

May & Poppy: What?!

King Peppy: Girls, you know I'm not getting any younger. I have to retire sooner or later, and this is the best way to do it.

Poppy: Dad, how could I marry someone I've NEVER met before? I don't want to be forced into it.

King Peppy: Poppy, I have no other options.

Poppy: Sure, you do! But me, marrying a stranger?! This is ridiculous!

May: I agree!

King Peppy: All I want for you is to be happy.

Poppy: I want to be happy, by finding my own love, not by random! This is not fair! You never listen to me! I want to live my life the way I want to! Mother would NEVER agree to this at all! She would let me leave the kingdom & explore the world, instead of being stuck here!

King Peppy: Never mention your mother! And, you are NOT going out there where the outside world is dangerous! You are getting married whether you like it or not!

I couldn't take it anymore & ran out of the throne room with May following me.

Poppy's room

Poppy: I can't believe this! Me?! Getting married to some random dude?! He has GOT to be kidding me! There is no way I'm getting married to someone like him!

May: Honestly, I've never seen you and dad yell at each other like that.

Poppy: I know, I know. I'm just stressed out right now.

May: What are you gonna do?

Poppy: There's only one thing I can do.

Note: May is a OC. She haves light green skin, blue hair, & blue eyes.
