Later that night

May: You're running away?

Poppy: I'm sorry, May. But, I can't stay here to be forced into marriage. It's not his decision to make.

May: Then, take me with you.

Poppy: I can't, May. I don't want to get you in trouble because of me. I want you to promise me something, alright?

May: Yea..?

Poppy: Promise you won't tell anybody, and that includes dad and the Snack Pack. Can you do that for me.

May: *sniffs* Mm-hmm.

Poppy: That's my girl. *kisses her head & hugs her* I'll miss you, baby girl.

May: I'll miss you, too...But, can you sing to me one more time before you go?

Poppy: Sure.

She fell asleep after singing to her, so I tucked her in the bed next to mine. As much as I hate to leave her, dad has left me no choice. After I grabbed my small bookbag & cape, I snuck out the window. I used my hair to grab one of the branches from the tree & swung over the palace walls. Luckily, there were no guards so it makes it easy to escape. I turned back to look at the kingdom one more time, then I ran down the trail into the woods.

Poppy: Goodbye, dad.
