The Runaway Princess

Chapter 6

The next day

King Peppy sent his men to search for Poppy. They searched the whole kingdom, then went out the the forest. May just prays that they don't find her too soon. Her wish is for Poppy to be happy. She has to make sure that Creek nor the guards would put their hands on her. Back at Branch's bunker, Poppy was still asleep while Branch was waking her up.

Branch: Poppy, wake up. Poppy, it's morning.

Not responding, Poppy faces him but is still asleep. Her sleeping face made Branch blush a bit. I mean, who can ignore a peaceful face like that. Branch couldn't help but smile a bit, so he started to poke her right cheek till she woke up.

Branch: Poppy, wake up.

Now responding, Poppy eyes flashed opened & sat up.

Poppy: Ahh! *places my hand on my cheek* What?

Branch: Heh, about time you woke up.

Poppy: *gets mad a bit* God, Branch, you're really.....Didn't I tell you to stop teasing me?

Branch: *thinks: She's even cuter when she's mad.* You did, but I didn't listen.

Poppy: Geez!

Branch: *pokes her cheek* That's what you get for not waking up earlier.

Poppy: You enjoy doing this, do you?

Branch: Maybe. Hmm? What's that?

Poppy: Oh, it's my mom's. My dad caught me looking at it, so he gave it to me. I haven't taken it off since.

Branch: *thinks: Even she has something to cherish.* Must be hard not knowing what's she's like.

Poppy: Yea. Actually, here's a picture of her.

Branch: You look just like her.

Poppy: *blush* What?! No, I don't.

Branch: Well, that's what I see.

Poppy: >/////< S-shut up!

Branch: Heh.

Back at the kingdom

May was in the garden sitting by the fountain wondering if Poppy's ok. The wedding was rescheduled til they find her. She looked at the ring Poppy gave her when she turned three. It means more to her than anything. To her, it's a symbol of sisters forever.

?: Hey, May.

May: *smiles* Hey, Nick.

That's Nick, May's first & only best friend. Other kids were messing with May, then Nick jumped in & helped her. Ever since then, they've played with each other everyday. Nick really like to draw, but he draws a lot of pictures of May, though. They both have feeling for each other, but think it's too early to tell.

Nick: Any word about Poppy?

May: Nope, but I'm sure she's fine. She's not that clumsy.

Nick: But, she's usually is?

May: So?

Nick: Just sayin.

May: Good thing dad cancelled the wedding.

Nick: Yes, who is this Creek guy, anyway?

May: I have no idea. I've never heard of him.

Nick: Me either.

May: Dad gets worried everyday.

Nick: I don't think he should. I mean, she's old enough to take care of herself.

May: that's what we keep telling him, but he wouldn't listen. She's always wanted to leave the kingdom, and I'm glad she did.

Nick: Wait, you knew she left?

May: I promised I wouldn't tell anybody.

Nick: Then, I won't, either.

May: Thanks, Nick. You're awesome.

Nick: Yea, I know.

May: Ok, don't get too cocky.

Nick: Heh, sorry.

Branch's Bunker

Branch: Hey, Poppy. Are you done yet?

Poppy: Almost. Besides, a girl needs her privacy.

Branch: Says you.

Poppy was going through her bag trying to find some clothes to wear, til she found the perfect outfit.

Poppy: Done.

Branch: It's about ti-....*blush*

Poppy:

Poppy: What do you think?

Branch: Wow.

Poppy: *thinks: hmm? Is he blushing? Nah, I'm probably just seeing things.* Anyway, where are you taking me?

Branch: You'll like it, promise.

Poppy: Since I trust you, alright. *thinks: He's up to something, but I can't put my finger on it*

Nick is another one of my OC. He has yellow skin, green hair, & green eyes.
