You and Barry sit on the edge of S.T.A.R. labs.

"(Y/n)," says Barry.

You avoid his gaze. Remorse and regret is all you feel, a tear to falls down your face.

"It's ok...," he says, "it's all ok." He puts his arm around you and you embrace his kindness and compassion. You start to unintentionally steal his compassion. So you break away from him.

"I'm not wearing the emotion stabilizer," you say.

"What is that?" he says.

"Cisco made it for me..." you tell him, "It's so I don't faint again or get overwhelmed with emotions. Plus without it I can take other people's emotions."

A smile creeps on his face, "Let's try it."

"Ok, think of something really sad," you say. "You don't have to say it out loud."

"Got it," he closes his eyes to block the tears, you don't know what he is thinking of.

He holds his gloved hand up and you put your bare hand on his.

"Can you feel through the glove?" he asks.

"Yes, and glass apparently," you say.

You focus on Barry's negative emotions. You already have Cisco's sadness, now you are taking Barry's as well... This can't end well you think.

You feel the tears roll down your cheeks. You started drowning misery.

Barry takes his hand away and yours flops down. You feel unmotivated to talk.

"Woah," he says. "I feel... Happier..."

"You're welcome," you say, flatly, putting on a fake smile.

"So, this does this affect you in anyway?" he asks.

"No," you lie, "the sadness just leaves."

"Good!" Barry says. "You okay? You're crying."

"I just lost my boyfriend," you say in a salty way, "what do you think?"

"I understand," he says.

"You always understand," you slightly smile. "You're my best friend."

"Maybe we could be more than that?" he winks.

"Barry...!" you say.

"What do you say?" he says, he gestures to both of you, "let's give us a go."

"No!" you say slapping him in the face.

He clutches his cheek. "That didn't hurt."

"Oh, yeah? You want it to?" you threaten.

"No, that really didn't hurt. When you declined me it didn't hurt, or when you slapped me." He says, "You really stole my sadness. I don't feel it anymore. None."

"Isn't that a good thing?" you say.

He shakes his head. "We all need to feel sad sometimes. Please give me back my sadness." He says then he laughs, "That's a sentence I never thought I would have to say."

"I can't." you say, "I need the emotion stabilizer, to put on you to get my abilities."

"And you know this because...?" he asks.

"I tried it before," you say quickly, "come on, it's in Cisco's workshop."
