Manik's POV

I'm Manik Malhotra, the billionaire and the only heir of Malhotra Industries. I'm a sedulous, hard working and kind of arrogant man. At an age of 28, I've already won the businessman of the year award. I've opened a chain of Hotels all across the country, apart from my business. Dad is proud of me. My mom was just a simple lady, who knew nothing about business and all she ever wanted was my rich health. Just that.

My life is compact and confined to them. I'm a young married man. Six months back, I'd an arranged marriage with Shanaya. Shanaya was a simple girl. She owns a small beauty parlour, even though I refrained her to do work, still she did. We don't love each other, but we have ample amount of respect. For me, before love, trust and respect come. If you can't respect the other person, you can never fall in love. She was a blessing in disguise, for my parents, but then there was always a spark missing.

We never made love.

Not because I didn't want, but then she was a lady in herself. It was her decision, to choose when to become a woman. She wasn't comfortable, neither I wanted. It was complicated. I wasn't sure if I could ever fall in love with her. It wasn't a classical thing. Thinking like that, another day came. I knew I'd to go office. I'd an important meeting.

Around 10, I left my mansion and drove towards Malhotra Industries. As I reached there, I was warmly welcomed by all my employees. It wasn't faux. I knew it. I wasn't that extremely arrogant boss, who'd want to make his employees timorous. They respected me, that's enough. I entered in my cabin and as soon as I entered, my PA Nandini Murthy stood there. She was someone. She wasn't classically beautiful. She had a kind of understated beauty, perhaps it was because she was so disarmingly unaware of her prettiness. Her white skin was completely flawless. I doubt she used face masks or expensive products, that really wasn't her thing. She was all about simplicity, making things easy, helping those around her to relax and be happy with what they have.

Her smile was charming. She was the woman, I was deeply attracted to. I knew it was wrong. May be, she was the only reason, why I couldn't develop my relationship with Shanaya. She had that kind of magic, that refuse to leave my mind and captured me in a trap. I knew she'd feelings too, it was pretty existent. But then, I was a committed man. But this heart? It never heard my voice. It'd to escalate around.

"Good Morning Sir", she wished with her usual kind and self actualised smile and I greeted her back.

"I want Ahuwalia's files on my table", I ordered and within a moment, she presented them on the table.

I checked them and I could feel her constant gaze over me. I knew it, already.

"Nandini", I said, "We have a meeting with Shabbir Mehta. So I want you to prepare for the meeting. We will leave around 2, so be prepared"

She nodded and immediately went back to her work. One thing, I liked the most about her was her professionalism. She might talk all day, but she knew how to be professional.

She was working on the table in the side of my cabin, considering it was enormous enough to accommodate. She was silently working there, when her long tresses fell over her pointed nose. It was such an adorable moment. Occasionally, her hand would go and set her tresses at the back of her ears. I was being mesmerized by her bewitching beauty.

"It's wrong Manik, it is", my heart exclaimed.

I know it. I tried focusing back, but then it didn't work. Hours passed and soon it was the time for our meeting. I went on her desk, and coughed a bit, "Umm... "

Her trance was broken and she looked above.

"We have to leave", I informed.

She hurriedly saw the time and said,  "I'm...im sorry. I lost the count of time. I'm really sorry"

I nodded and asked her to get ready with her stuff.

In 10 minutes, she was ready and we were in parking lot. I took my car and asked her to seat, as we drove back.
