Distance Between (Connor Franta fanfic)

Invitation

We arrive at McDonald's and I order 2 cheeseburgers, large fries, and a Diet coke. I usually order an apple pie but I'm in L.A., and I'm probably going to the beach soon.

While I wait for my food I log on to twitter. During the plane ride Ricky told me to go follow him, so I might as well now. I go on his account and noticed his overwhelming amount of followers; and apparently he has fans.

I read his bio and he says that he's a youtuber. Oh yeah! I forgot about that. I guess I'll search him up later. I follow him but suddenly notice in the pictures that he posted a pic of me and him.  I click on the tweet and he tweeted:

I laughed then retweeted. I saw that Jenn and Andrea got there food. We all went to go find a table and sit.

''So Emily, you liking LA so far?" Andrea asked, with a mouth full if french fries.

"I haven't really seen much but...yeah its great." I said.

Beep beep

Andrea got her phone out of her pocket and looked at the message. I saw Andrea smile down at the text.

''Kian invited us to Sam's suprise birthday party tomorrow night. " Andrea said happily to Jenn. I look at them confused. Who the heck is Kian and Sam? Jenn and Andrea look excited.

Andrea noticed my confusion and said, ''Oh, Kian is my boyfriend and Sam is one of his best friends" She explains. Oohh. Well that makes more sense. I wonder if I'm able to go. If I am, what the hell am I gonna do with a crowd full of people I don't know? Most importantly, what am I going to wear for a party in L.A?

''I just asked Kian if you could come.  He said he doesn't care." Andrea said, strangely reading my mind. We all finish up our food then head to the car for Andrea to drive us back to the apartment.

The next day

I woke up on the couch at 9:30, with a massive pain in my back. Why was their couch so firm? I got up and wandered around the hall to find a bathroom. Of course both Jenn and Andrea aren't morning people, so I shouldn't find anyone in there.

I take a long and hot shower, deciding to think through what I should actually do with my life.

What should I do this summer? I can figure that out with Jenn.  Andrea too, I guess. It would make sense since she actually lives with Jenn.

What I've been really pondering on was what was I going to do when I get back to Georgia. I don't want to go back. I don't want my dad chasing me. I don't want to deal with all the murder shit. I care about my mom, I really do, but I'm so scared to face it. I just hope the police find out and arrest my dad. Woah. Never thought I would be saying that....

I get out of the shower and wrap the towel on me. I get out and grab my clothes then head back to the bathroom to change I put on my light colored ripped skinny jeans, a black crop top that says ''Vans" and my black Vans shoes. I put my hair in a side braid and put some mascara, eye-liner, and lip balm. Yeah I'm not a big fan of make up. I glance at my forearm, almost forgetting that the cut was still there. I look through the medicine cabinet and get the first aid kit. I grab the bandage and wrap it around. I put the stuff back and get out of the bathroom, grabbing my phone and placing it in the back pocket.

I go to the kitchen and see that Andrea and Jenn finally got up. ''Good morning!" I tell them.

''Morning," they mumbled. They're obviously tired.

I chuckle. ''So any plans today?" I ask.

''I have to help set up for the party tonight then just hang with Kian" She says, then yawns.

"Hey Jenn is it ok if we just walk around town today?" I ask

''Yeah let me go get ready first." She says and heads to her room.

Andrea is still finishing up her breakfast and so I just go get a banana. 

"So what exactly is gonna be going on at the party?" I ask curiously.

''Well just the same old suprise party. Just wait for the birthday person to come, suprise them, then just chill. But trust me our friends are really cool and laid back. I'm sure your gonna get along with them." She says.

I sigh in relief. I hope that's true. I mean I might as well make friends while I'm here right?

Jenn and I are walking around LA. It's so beautiful. I can't believe I have never visited before. We go into a starbucks and I get my usual Caramel frappéchino and Jenn gets her chocolate chip frappé.  We take our seats and take a sip out of our drinks.

''I'm so happy we get spend some time with each other. It's been months since we saw each other." Jenn cries out.

''I'm know! I've missed you so much, college really sucks the life out of you," I said.

I think I should tell her now. She's my best friend and she keeps secrets. 

''Jenn...I have to tell you something very important. But don't tell anyone. Please." I say seriously.

Jenn look at me and nodded. I take a deep breath and tell her everything. I told her everything, from trying to call my parents to when I drove away. After I let it all out, it felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

I'm almost in tears when I tell her everything, but it honestly wasn't as hard as I expected it to be. I mean I'm usually a care free happy girl. Now I'm a torn up girl who's witnessed their mothers death, right before her eyes. I know I need to stop this soon.

Jenn is just looking at me with wide eyes. I can't really blame her.

''Wow. That's just. Wow." She says practically speechless.

''I'm so sorry I didn't mention this earlier" I say.

''It's fine, but you know I'm here for you and trust me you are definitely safe here. I'm so glad you came here. I really mean it." Jenn says with a reassuring smile.

''Thank you Jenn. You really are a best friend. " I say.

"That's what best friends are for Emzy" I laughed.

I can't believe she still calls me that. She's been calling me that since I was 8. It's amazing how this conversation has turned from serious to funny, she really knows how to brighten up someone's mood. I'm so glad I called her.
