After P.E., Wendy and I parted ways, promising she would meet me at my house after school. With that, I headed to the office to walk with Jenica to our second period, Geometry.
"Well, I figured it out. She is, yes, Mya Covett Novák, foreign exchange student from not Prague, but Portugal. She has Algebra II and speaks fluent English. It's crazy. She got traded with Michael Duphel. He moved back with his grandma."
"A bilingual genius? She's not smarter than me, is she?"
"She's in Algebra II. She's smarter than both of us put together!"
"Well what's her GPA?"
"I don't even know. Probably a six point oh or something. I only took a picture of her schedule and medical records."
"Jen! You could get arrested for something like that!" I whisper-yelled, yanking her into a corner.
"Nobody knows but us. It'll be okay," she whispered back. I looked around to make sure no one was looking at us.
You won't get caught. Jen made sure of it.
What the hell?
"How are you so sure?"
"I just am." With that, she pulled us out the corner and we walked towards Ms. Damon's class. We took our seats and I opened my binder, waiting for class to start.
"Dont be mad, Nick," she said, nudging me.
"I'm not, I just hope you don't get caught." The bell rang and Ms. Damon walked in with a grin on her face.
"Okay class, let's begin." That's when things started getting creepy.
Come find me Nicole.
What?
You heard me. Come find me. The boys voice sent a shiver down my spine.
Oh, come on. It'll be fun. I'm not far, just look. I looked around the room some. Everyone was paying attention.
"Nicole, are you looking? We have a test coming up next week. What's the final answer?"
I looked at the problem carefully, trying to figure out what she was doing.
I started at the problem for a moment, then answer It.With a nod, she moved on to the next problem.
See you're smarter than the Mya chick. Okay, who keeps talking?!
Me obviously.
"Well stop,"I mumbled to the voice, trying to stay quiet.
Nope. Not until you find me. I need to talk to you.
I tapped my pencil, trying to drown out the sound of the boys velvety voice.
I'm glad your enjoying it.
"Please shut up."
He sighed and then...he showed up. He was standing in the class room, walking behind the teacher, but no one paid attention.
Oh god, no one sees him but me. I'm going insane. I'm out of my mind.
Damn right you are. He was gone. I put my head down, breathing in and out, trying to understand what was going on. I must be sleep deprived. Im hallucinating.
No you aren't.
I shrugged off the voice and kept taking notes, ignoring his comments about my ugly handwriting, how nice I looked today, how I really needed to go find him.
