Chapter 3

(y/n)'s POV

"What year is this?"

"About year 850, why," Eren told me. My eyes widened.

"This isn't good! I shouldn't be here! I'm from the year 2020!" Now, It was their turn for their eyes to widen. All of us were shocked. We all started to throw questions at each other.

"What's it like in the future?" They asked.

"What country is this?" I asked.

"What is a country?" And so on.

After that, the boys and Hanji went outside to talk. I started to think about the country. I was always good with geography, so this should be easy. America has Sequoia trees, but the forests are bigger than the small one we came across. I know Europe has Sequoia trees like that, but where... Then it hit me. Germany. It was right in front of me! I guess I wasn't paying attention on the way home, because some of the signs to shops were in German! I felt lucky, because I did a report on Germany a while back. I smiled at my accomplishment, then brainstormed states in Germany. The first that came to mind is a german state called Schleswig-Holstein, because that's the state I did a project on. It was famous for having lots of cows and dairy, I remember. Cows and... Beaches.

My daydreaming was interrupted by Hanji screaming out in the hallway-

"SHE CAN'T SEE TITANS!?" I walked outside the room. Hanji gave me- yet another- weird look that I couldn't identify. She then grabbed my wrist. She pulled me outside. I looked behind me to see worried Jean and Eren following. She then put me in front of some sort of torture thing for giants.

"Do you see them? You have to," Hanji pointed to the weird torture thing.

"I see leather straps and metal poles but that's about all." I told the truth. Hanji and I then stepped closer to it. And closer. She reached her hand out like she was going to touch something. I looked back at Jean who looked scared. Turned my attention to Hanji who suddenly yanked me to the ground.

"Woah! Bean #2 that was close! You could've hurt us!" Hanji laughed before we both ran away.

"Who's Bean? Were we running from him? Are titans invisible to only some people and not others?" I asked, obviously wanting to know the answer as soon as possible.

"(y/n), I want you to try to put your hand inside that ring right there. For us, we see a titan hand in it. I want to know if you can touch titans. Jean, by all means, protect her." Hanji ordered. We both gulped and nodded. I walked toward the ring, Jean staying behind until anything happened. I put my hand through the ring. Nothing happened. Once again, I was confused. I looked back at Hanji and the boys. Their jaws dropped.
