Chapter 1

The morning light broke into my room, gently waking me up from my sound sleep. I tensed as I felt a body move in back of me, but when a farmiliar hand curled around my hip I let down my guard. Dimitri snuggled in closer to me as I tried to position myself so I was facing him. He didn't let me though. Surprising me when he moved some of his body on top of mine, he leaned down so our faces were inches apart.

He gave me one of those rare smiles and pushed my hair back behind my ears. "You can go back to sleep if you'd like Roza..." My mind considered staying in bed all day with Dimitri. After all, I didn't have to guard Lissa around the clock for 3 days because doctors said "I needed healing time." Dimitri was excused as well, in order to rest from our reign of terror.

"I don't know..." my voice trailed off. Dimitri gave me a slow, meaningful kiss and we melted together. His lips strayed from my mouth and ventured down my neck. He kissed my molniji marks and lingered on my Zvezda mark.

"You're so beautiful," he whispered. I gave him a small smile and grabbed hold of his shoulders. Our lips crushed together and I gathered enough courage to turn him on his back. I pressed my hands against his hard, flat chest. His eyes told me to keep going. Wanting him closer, I slid my hands down his lower back, and made him come closer.

I kissed his neck, and was intrigued when I heard a soft moan come from his throat. My nails dug into his back. I didn't ever want to let him go.

DImitri cupped my head and brought my face closer to his. "I love you, Roza."

"I love you too." I saw my own love refelced back in his eyes. Remembering something dreadful, I climbed off of him and flopped on the bed. Dimitri sat up and held my hand, eyes filled with worry.

"What's wrong?" I avoided eye contact. He gave me a hard look, and I gave in.

Tears filled my eyes. "Your family thinks you're dead."
