I would just like to quickly thank all my readers. You guys rock! As you know, this is my first fanfiction so I hope you can give me feedback and whatnot. Anyway, enjoy chapter 5!

Americas POV

Ring ring ring

I got out of my chair and started to pack up my English books and stuffed them into my backpack.

Lunch time. Yay. (That was sarcastic)

I mean don't get me wrong, I love food, but I didn't know what to do, or where to go. I wish Marlee was here to-

MARLEE!

I walked out the door to see Marlee waiting there for me. And next to her was Carter. And next to him was- ugh- Schreive.

"Cmon Ames, let's go get lunch!" Marlee linked her arm with mine and dragged me to the lunch room, which was just the commons area. The boys followed behind us, whispering in hushed tones. I just waved that off because I didn't want to think about Maxon.

We walked up to the counter and ordered our lunch from the menus.

"I'll take the crispy chicken salad please!" Marlee exclaimed.

Carter walked up and whispered in Marlee's ear, she giggled then nodded before saying, "never mind, Carter will have the Crispy Chicken Salad."

The couple picked up the tray and walked to their seats.

"What would you like, my dear?" I heard a voice say. I knew that voice. Maxon.

I turned and glared at him. "I am not your dear. Back off."

Maxon just held up his hands in defeat.

I sighed, "I'll have the potato soup, please."

The lady behind the counter nodded and called the order back.

"I'll have the same."

I looked up to see Maxon staring at me, a devious grin on his face. I had the urge to slap him, then and there, but restrained myself.

I took my food and sat down next to Marlee and Carter, who were making goo goo eyes at each other while feeding each other Carters Salad.

I groaned, got up, and found a different place to sit at. To my surprise, Celeste and Isaac came and sat next to me.

"I know why you moved. Those two can get so awkward to be around sometimes." Celeste said.

I rolled my eyes and nodded. "Tell me about it."

"You have no idea." This time, it was Isaac who spoke. He just shook his head.

We laughed and talked for a while. I occasionally stole glances at the other table, where Carter and Marlee were practically sucking each others faces. Maxon looked uncomfortable and tried to crack a joke here and there. Realizing it was no good, he picked up his tray and walked over to our table.

"Hey." Was all he said before sitting down next to me.

"Hey yourself." I mumbled, not looking up from my food.

We made small talk, he asked questions about my family, I asked questions about his. Celeste and Isaac had already left, leaving Maxon and I alone.

I stood up to go throw away my lunch left overs and Maxon did the same. We walked out of the commons area. Scratch that. I walked out of the commons area. Maxon just creepily followed me.

"Hey, uh, Ames."

I turned around. "What."

Maxon looked at me with his chocolate brown eyes. He stepped closer. And closer.
