From life to death I never felt right,
Something always loomed in the night,
Something that made me quiver in fright. You see, this something always moved,
House to house,
Room to room.
Place to place,
Space to space. This something would always haunt,
A feeling more but less a taunt,
All these children pray to a god,
Hoping the something won't make them rot.A howl, a scream, a sound in the night,
Again, I'm saying it doesn't seem right,
A shake, a quiver, a shiver of fright,
My small fist clenched tight.I jumped out my bed to investigate,
Put on my boots right by the gate,
Into the woods, where it waits.
And a small fear of tomorrow's berates.A demonic smile waits for me,
Just around the nearest tree,
Another blood-chilling, ear-piercing scream,
And I could only hope it was all a dream. And that scream came from my own mouth,
From then on, I knew things could only go south.
The thing, the monster, was uglier than hell,
If only I had lived to tell.
