A/N: My French is a bit rusty. Sorry if I made mistakes.

  ✯

"Qu'est-ce que tu as dit?"

I sank into the couch, bringing the bag of popcorn closer to my chest. "Gen, you know I can't understand your French."

"Ben oui, là! C'est dégoutant! We must get him back, yes? Battre le fer pendant qu'il est chaud." Strawberry blond hair was bouncing around in front of me as the tall woman pranced from one end of my cramped apartment to the other. She planted her slender hands on her hips. After a few seconds of huffing and puffing, she stopped and turned to face me with sparkling forest eyes. "Can we kill him?"

"Genevieve, we are not killing him," I stated with a shake of my head.

She pouted. "Cut off his balls?"

"No."

Gen sighed heavily, plopping down on the couch beside me. She grabbed some pieces of popcorn and threw them in her mouth. "But he cheated on you." She folded her arms across her chest. "Ah! Il me fait chier. Oh mon Dieu."

I placed a hand on her shoulder, narrowing my eyes in concern. "Honesty, Gen, you had a bigger reaction than I did."

Her head snapped to look at me. "Vraiement?" She shook her head at me. "Why do you date these people if you don't care for them?"

I shrugged my shoulders, suddenly uncomfortable with the question. "When's Sapphire getting here?"

Distracted, Gen plucked her phone from her bra to get the time. "Soon. She's always late."

"I know." Sighing, I flicked through the channels on TV.

Gen, Sapphire, and I had been best friends since middle school. I swear, Gen lost ten years of her life every time she heard of my boy misfortunes. One time, she literally beat up one of the guys. To a pulp.

Strutting into my apartment was a short red-head with a booming smile on her face. Noting her tight dress and red pumps, I'd assumed she just came from a date. That, or the bar. Both Sapphire and Gen were my roommates. One would think we would become sick of one another.

She plopped down in between us. "So," she greeted with a dreamy smile on her face. "Who goes first?"

Gen pointed a finger in my direction with a quizzical look on her face. "I think we should start at the bottom and work up, oui?"

Sapphire's eyebrows narrowed in concern. It took all but two seconds for her to be facing me full on, hands already on my shoulder. "Awh, baby, what happened? Are you okay?"

I sighed. "I'm fine. Peter cheated on me."

"What?! That stupid, hairless swimmer, cock sucking, load of shit, piece of-"

"Sapph, it's fine," I drawled. "Really. I'm good."

She noticeably relaxed. "Another one of them huh?"

I nodded. "Another one." Another one, meaning yet another guy that cheated with my sister and one that I apparently didn't feel anything toward.

It was an endless circle.

Gen grumbled in annoyance. "your sister is a horrible person, D. You must know this."

"She's my family," I reasoned. "It's okay."

Sapphire, giving me that dreaded pity look, rubbed my arms soothingly. "Oh, babe, it's okay. We know you love her. Just don't let her walk over you so much, okay?" Suddenly, she pounced forward and wrapped her arms around me tightly. "We love you so much and don't want you to be sad. That would make us sad. Wouldn't it, Gen?"
