Zayn's POV
This is the longest car ride of my life. All I want to do is get to the hospital. Like what if he broke his neck and he's paralyzed or fractured his skull or-
My train of thought was cut off by, "So Zayn, how long have you and Liam known each other?" Ms. Coles voice was very calming.
"Ermmm, he was the first friend I made when I moved here. We met in the 3rd grade. It's was love at first sight. Well, friendship wise anyway." Ms. Cole and I giggled a bit.
"So, Ms. Cole, not to be nosey or anything but, why did you move here? To this school? Because everyone 'heard' that you were teaching at this rich private school in the USA?" I asked her.
"Because I wasn't happy there. I mean it was nice living in America for a bit but it was nothing like home. It was always hot there and the children were very rude. I would teach and they wouldn't listen. So, my husband and I decided to come back and-"
"Wait you have a husband?" I never knew. Nobody really did. She doesn't wear a ring at school. Liam didn't know but is going to be upset when he finds out.
"Yes. We've been married for 2 years now. He's not doing everything I would like him to do though. He's not doing the typical husband stuff. I knew I shouldn't have said yes when I did. He proposed after the 5th date. Then we got married 6 weeks after. That is just too soon. Sorry if I'm talking your ears off."
"No your not I have sisters so I'm used to this talking/ venting. But if you're not happy, shouldn't you talk to him about it?" I questioned. If I had a girlfriend I'd do everything in my might to keep her happy until the relationship didn't work anymore.
"I have but he just kind of throws it over his shoulder and doesn't look back at it. Most of the time, we don't even sleep in the same bed anymore." We are stopped at a red light. So after she said that she looked out the window. "And, I think he's cheating on me with this girl. I saw her driving out of our driveway. I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to fight anymore."
"Well, you should or you should just cheat on him. Kind of like a little revenge thing." Right when I finished that we were at the hospital. We got out of the car and it looked like Ms. Cole was deep in her thoughts about what I just told her. She's either taking it into consideration or thinking I'm a total freak.
We walk inside to see a fair amount of people in the Emergency Room. We walk up to the desk and see a nice looking lady with jet black hair and brown tips. "How may I help you two today?" She asks while still looking at the computer screen. "We are here to see Liam Payne. He came here in an ambulance and stuff." I say so nervously.
"We don't have a Liam here in the system. But there's a guy they just brought in here for head trauma." She said. "Yeah, that's him." "Okay let's go check and if it is, then one of you has to fill out this paperwork for him." She grabs a clipboard and motions for us to follow her. We walk into the ear and it looks friendly in here. She opens one of the curtains and we see Liam.
"Is this him?" She asks. I'm stuck in my gaze. I never thought that I would see my best friend in a Hospital bed looking like this. I nod my head and lightly grab the clipboard from her. I sit down in one of the chairs on the side of his bed. I just stare at him in shock. I hear a noise like something is vibrating. I look and see that it is Liam's phone. I grab it and it says, 'Mom' on it. I answer the phone and say,"Hello Mrs. Payne."
"Oh. Hello, Zayn. Where is Liam? He is normally here at home by now." She says. I can tell that she is happy. She's always happy. "He's here in the Emergency Room. He's doing really good. I promise." Before I could say something else I hear Liam's voice, "Who are you talking to?" I smile in relief to see that he is awake. "I'm talking to your mother Liam. Do you what to talk to her?"
he nods his head and I walk over to him and pass him the phone. All I hear is, "yes I'm fine, No, I got into a fight, just a few bruises I got knocked out and they thought something happened to me so they thought something bad happened, No, mom you don't have to come," Liam laughed with that last one a bit and said bye and hung up the phone.
30 Minutes Later
Ms. Coles POV
We were all laughing about this joke that Zayn just told to try and lighten the whole situation. then we here the curtain open and see Liam's mother. She walks in happy to see him. "Liam are you alright?" He nods his head because he's still laughing at the joke. "Yeah, you look fine now. Are you Liam's girlfriend or something? He's always talking about this girl in his last class of the day to me." I stand in shock and I look at Liam. He starts blushing.
"No, I'm not. I'm his teacher and I'm here because Zayn needed a ride here to see his best friend and gave him one and I'll take the both of them home and get them a bite to eat if you'd like Mrs. Payne." She looks at me and smiles. "Oh, that would be lovely dear. You are so nice. I'm actually supposed to watch my grandbaby in a little bit so, Can you actually do that?" I nodded my head. She grabbed my hand and said, "Thank you so much." She walks out in a rush and Liam is still blushing.
An Hour Later
"Alright. You're all free to go. You just had a little concussion. Try not to hit your head anymore." The doctor joked. We walked out of the E.R. and over to my car. Liam didn't want to get it.
"C'mon Liam. Get it. I don't bite." I joked with him. He remembered what it was from too. I started the car and put the heat on since it was kind of cold outside. "So what do you guys want to eat?" "McDonald's," Zayn said very quickly then looked back at Liam. Liam nodded his head and there we went. We went through the drive through. Zayn got a double quarter pounder meal, Liam got 20 chicken nuggets, and I just got a double cheeseburger with some fries.
''That will be 28.64 at the first window." I drove to the first window and gave them my debit card. "Wait, the both of us have money Ms. Cole," Liam told me. "Yeah I figured but I got this." We went to the second window and got our food. "Okay, Zayn where do you live?" I asked before taking a bite into my cheeseburger. "A block before Liam."
We drove and I dropped Zayn off and then I dropped Liam off. While I was sitting in his driveway waiting to make sure he got inside I was thinking about what Zayn said about 'revenge'. I didn't know who to cheat on my husband with but I think I do now.
