Chapter 1: Snow Day

I sat on the swing of our new found house. The swing sways gently back and forth, descending from the low bearing branch of an oak tree. My black sleeveless tee, wet from the falling snow. I stared intently at the white blanketed ground. "Ariella!" My mother yelled. I looked up to see her on the porch, rubbing her upper arms. "Get your ass inside before you freeze!" She yelled rushing inside through the back door. I took my time getting off the swing. My ankle boots crushed the snow beneath my feet. As I walked I heard anothers steps behind me. I stopped, as did they. I turned to see two yellow orbs gazing at me. A wolf. Though the wolf itself was but a blur. "Ariella!" My mother yelled again. I gazed one last time, then ran for the house.

"Anna please, she's a child. They make mistakes." My father said. "She's 15 years old Adam! She's old enough to know how to dress herself!" My mother yelled. I walked in closing the back door behind me. Mom runs to me and drags dad with her. "Adam see?! Shorts that barely cover her ass-" "They cover her... Buttocks just fine." "Ankle boots! A sleeveless tee?! And it's snowing outside!" "It's obvious she misses Florida Anna. She's homesick" mom just stared. "Whatever" she growled and left to her office to unpack. "Nice job" I chuckled. "I have my ways" Dad winked. "You have school tomorrow don't you?" Dad questioned. "Oh god. Don't remind me. We HAD to move after the school year started? I mean it's December for God's sake!" I growled. "Watch your mouth." Dad stated sternly. "I can't. My eyes don't work that way" I joked. Dad chuckled "Whatever. Go finish unpacking your room, then hit the hay. We all have a big day tomorrow" he smiled. "Ok" I said and trumped up the stairs to my room. 'Might as well sleep now. These boxes will take forever' I thought. And with that I plopped on my bed and slunk into a dreamless slumber.
