Endless Conflict.

the ambush.

I heard the convoy coming closer I look at my men. They all nodded. As it passed the tank at the front hit the minefield Immobilizing it. Rest started to back off but the helljumpers dropped in from seemingly nowhere and one of them uses a grenade launcher to immobilize it. Me and yui throw smoke grenades and move towards them. Yui climbed onto the fount tank and took care of its crew and the helljumpers did the same to the rear one. I jumped onto the roof of the transport. The guy in the passenger seat came out of the top hatch and tried to shoot me but missed and I killed him. The pilot pointed his gun at the hatch and tried to shoot my leg. I jumped to the other side of the hatch. “your out gunned and out manned. Surrender and you won't be harmed.” he slowly came out of the transport with his hands behind his head.

I told the rest of the team to get into the transport. Ray and his team also did the same. I was about to take the soldier into the transport when a bullet ripped through his head. I quickly dived into the transport. Ray asks me what's wrong “A god damn sniper nearly took my head off.” he hits the dashboard  and starts the engine “we need to get out of here before reinforcements arrived.”  we were moving as quick as we could towards the LZ but when were intercepted by commonwealth jeeps. They shot at the transport. I got onto the roof mounted machine gun and began returning fire. A stray bullet hit me in the arm causing me to fall into the transport.

Surprisingly I didn't hit the dashboard on my way down. But I was caught by yui. I groaned in pain. He looked around for a first aid kit but didn't find anything. “it's ok yui i'm fine. Thanks for catching me.”  he smiled but still looked worried. “you sure?” he says. I nod “you don't need to hold me I can walk” I smile and he blushes slightly “sorry sir” then he puts me down in the seat next to him.

Pvt biggs took the gunners position and I sat there hunched over in pain. I squeezed my arm,closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I felt something touch me so I opened one eye to see yui softly touching my arm examining it with a concerned look on his face. “I'm ok” I grown smiling at him. He looks down “sorry I'm just..just worried.” I give him a hug and reassure him I'm ok. He was about to object when we heard ray yell “were at the LZ let's get out of here.”

With that we leave the transport one of the helljumpers grabs the cargo. And we run for the chopper. As we leaving our pursuers arrived and began spraying bullets at us. corporal biggs took the gun and rained hell down on them and ray took his grenade launcher and took care of there jeeps. I relaxed in the seat and ray sat next to me “good job out there” he shook my hand “same to you” I nod and leaned back yui said “I think it went swimmingly” and also relaxed but was a little closer to me than usual.
