Chapter 1
Melissa grew up in a really poor family, although she went to a very rich school. How do you ask? Well she was an A+ student, never trying to get a single B to match her parents expectations. Her parents had never finished highschool so they wanted the best for their little girl. At school she would get teased because of how poor she was and also she was very PRETTY compared to other girls so they always made Melissa cry. Melissa hated school and had only one friend named Amanda who loved her and knew where she came from. Suddenly her parents decide to move, but not only houses, a different state. She had grown up living the California life, but now she had to move to the hot desert Arizona. Melissa thought about Amanda and how her life would be at a completely different state. Chapter 2
"Melissa get ready for school! And dont forget to drop off your brother!!" My mom and yelled at me
"Ughhhh" was the only thing i could make out considering it was 4:30 in the morning.
My mom and dad had then left for work, while i had a huge list to do before i went to school.
I put on my furry blue slippers walking lazily to the table in the kitchen. A note was there left for me saying
"Goodmorning Melissa!
Here is a list of chores you must do before going to school please!
1.Feed the dogs
2.Feed the cat
3.Wash the dishes
4.Wake up your brother
5.Make him breakfast
Thanks! Have a good day at school sweetie!"
I did a soft groaning noise then walked to the pantry and served my two dogs food including my cat. I then decided to not do the dishes and just go ahead and start getting ready. I put on my stupid uniform and brushed my hair into a ponytail. I then put on my blue converse and went to brush my teeth. After, i ate breakfast then started to watch some youtube on my phone, knowing i had no other contacts to text because i only had Amanda and my parents on their. I woke up my brother then told him to tell my parents "I made him breakfast." After awhile i then go on outside with him, going to drop him off to school.
Hell was i tired. I then said bye to him then kept walking to my school. I then stepped through the gate.

Chapter 3
I walked through the gate, seeing other kids play and mess with each other then walked to the basketball courts where benches were placed. I then heard the bell ring and started walking to my assigned class. Mr. Papovac was the name of the teacher as i stepped in reading his name off the board. I walked in as i could hear other students muttering under there breathes, " A new girl"
I somewhat got annoyed but brushed it off. The teacher assigned us seats and the team right next to me, a boy had for the first time caught my attention. His name was Irvin Gutierrez. I saw him and became very quiet, almost to quiet. I was very quiet actually for most of the year, i never had really real friends except when i met this one boy that lived down my street and always yelled " NEIGHBOR!" to get my attention. His name was Alonzo Cruz.
When i first met him, he actually came up to me and asked "WHY ARE YOU SO SERIOUS ALL THE TIME?" I then replied "because i can be" and he said "I like your attitude, wanna be friends?"
I honestly became very shocked that someone thought i was interesting. I replied with a faint "Really?"
"Yup, you seem pretty cool and oh yeah isn't your name Melissa? Yeah thats a pretty name!"
"Well thankyou. I assume that you want to have my phone number to message me wouldn't you?"
"God thats what i like about you, you always know what im about to say!
I then gave my phone number to him. I was shaking when i handed it to him, i never trusted anyone very much, and for some reason i became very attached to him.
