Alexandra POV

I wouldn't say I was excited to be moving. Leaving my friends behind, not that I had a ton of friends, but it was going to be extremely hard. I had lived in Boulder, Colorado my entire life. I grew up building snow men and skiing, and being taught that warm, humid weather year round was unlikely and complete hell. Now, at 19 I find myself moving straight into a variation of that hell. Los Angeles California.

I graduated high school about 5 months ago but I had known since junior year that the University of California was where I would being going to college. I figured I should experience the weather for myself. Also the university has been known for its amazing law majors, and since I was interested in criminal law, it made sense to go.

My sister, Emily who is five years older than me, has recently graduated from the Colorado Film school. She had landed an internship in LA at a big movie studio.

She was going to be getting a house down there anyway and it made sense that I should live with her instead of paying for an expensive dorm. I have been packing for weeks now. I have a lot of stuff. And I mean, a lot of stuff.

"Alexandra Martin if you do not get down here in 5 minutes I'm going to start unpacking your things!" my mother yells to me from downstairs. She wasn't thrilled that I was moving far away from her and only at the age of 19.

"Betsy Martin I am coming as fast I can! And if you start unpacking my things I'll have to live in your basement forever, eating YOUR food that YOU spent your money on!" I yell back, throwing the last of my things in the one remaining box.

I looked in the mirror, that was somehow permanently mounted on my wall, at my small figure for the last time in this house. I am pretty short, about 5'3. I have long wavy brown hair that reaches just above my lower back. I decided that today I would just wear a plain white tank top with my lulu lemon black leggings and Adidas slip ons.

I stumbled down the stairs with the last box in my arms. I have been kind of emotional about leaving my childhood home, but I'm not really great at showing my emotions. I like to keep it to myself most of the time. Why show other people that you have feelings when you can keep to yourself and not have to awkwardly socialize? Also I can be a little sarcastic at times.

It was a loud car ride with my sister and my mother, driving to the airport. She gave us the basic goodbye speech attached with 'rules'.

"No drugs, no law breaking, no strip clubs, no vandalism, no staying out late and no boys."

"Okay we have never and don't plan on doing any of that. And really? Strip clubs? Why would we ever find ourselves there. And no boys! Sorry mom but no can do. They're all going to be tall, glossy and tan. I'm not going to be able to resist." as I bat my eyes and throw my arms over my shoulders pretending to be in a boy crazed daze.

"Plus you know I have Jake back at home! We've agreed to FaceTime every night and he said he's going to visit next weekend!" Emily squeals and returns to listening to her music. She never really stops talking about Jake. They met on their first day of college and have been dating ever since.

Not long after that embarrassing conversation we had arrived at the airport. We said our goodbyes to mom and proceeded through security. Checked all our bags of clothes and got on the plane. The movers are driving our decretive house things down because it was cheaper than flying them.

When we had finally landed it was about 3 o'clock but me and Emily were tired. There wasn't much of a time difference so its not jet lag, we were just fatigued from waking us so early to finalize all the packing.

Emily had bought a car, since we were going to be living here in beautiful LA for a while. It was very gorgeous here. The extremely tall palm trees added to the aesthetic of the blue sky that was completely rid of clouds.

We loaded the bright yellow jeep with our bags, boxes and suitcases. We are kind of a mess right now.

"Alex can you just grab your backpack and put it in the car, its the only thing left." Emily tells me with a hint of annoyed.

"Going as quick as I can." which wasn't true. Its just so pretty outside, how could you not just stare at everything and notice all the vibrant colors everywhere. But I brought myself and the bag to the passenger seat of the car and Emily speeded off.

"It is so pretty here, why didn't we move sooner?" I don't think I can ever go back to Colorado again. I don't love snow but I love the beach, even though Ive only been once in my entire life.

"You have to see the house! Its so beautiful and modern. Plus its like 10 minutes away from the beach." Emily tells me this now?! I have to go bathing suit shopping asap.

We pulled up to the house around 5. It was beautiful. I'm explaining things as beautiful a lot but what do you want me to say? Everything truly is beautiful here!

We had a small front yard filled with bright green grass and a little stone path leading to the front door from the driveway.

I grabbed my backpack and a small box out of the car and started to walk to the door. Emily was already inside and was yelling something to me but I couldn't hear her. The house next-door was playing really loud music and you could hear shouting or some kind of laughter.

I stayed in the driveway examining the house on the right of us. It was also very nice with a little backyard like ours, that was fenced off, like ours. There was a grey range rover and a jeep parked in the driveway and a ton of cars lined up on the side walk, partially blocking the street. They all had tickets on their windshields which made me giggle a little.

As I started to walk into the house two guys, one with a british accent and the other with short bleached hair, stumbled out of the house that was playing the loud music . Both of them being extremely attractive.

Well this is going to be interesting.
