New Neighbors

"Hey Alex." Kian waves towards me, barely making eye contact.

"Hey."

"Wait who is that?" the girl Kian was with quietly asks him.

"Thats our new neighbor." Well he doesn't sound very amused.

I slowly and awkwardly make my way over to their little group. Why am i doing this? Oh ya because you're by yourself and if you walk on the beach alone you'll look like a loser.

"Thats Jc, Bobby anad Franny." Kian introduces me, pointing to each of them. But when he told me Franny he put his arm around her shoulder and shoved her closer to him. In like a playful way though.

"Hi, I like your shorts!" Franny tells me with a comforting smile.

"Oh thanks, their like the only pair I have. There wasn't much need for shorts in Colorado." Where is this new found confidence and sociability coming from?

"You lived in Colorado? Thats so cool! I love to snowboard." Jc and me have something in common.

"Ya, me and my sister Emily moved here because I'm going to UCLA and she is doing this movie internship thing."

"Hey! Kian acts!" Bobby points to Kian, intentionally singling him out.

"Bobby shut up." Kian says while laughing and shaking his head.

"Hey, since you just moved here I could show you some places to go shopping?" Franny kindly offers me.

"Oh ya that would be so helpful! And now since I basically live next to the beach Im going to need bathing suits."

Almost right after I mention the bathing suit part, Kian lifts his eyebrows.

"Ya maybe we could go tomorrow?" Franny asks.

"That would be great." I give a small smile, shaking my head.

After ten more minutes of light small talk, I told them I had to get back to help my sister unpack. Before I left Franny asked me for my number so she could text me. I quickly gave it to her and started to walk 'home'. Im going to have to get used to saying that now.

"Wow thanks for showing up." Emily oh so very politely greets me as I walk in the front door.

"I was just making a good impression for us, to our new neighbors."

"Oh they were down there?"

I start taking plates and the kitchen utensils out of the boxes and put them away in cabinets and drawers.

"Ya, I met Bobby, Jc and I think Kian's girlfriend named Franny. They were all really nice and funny."

"You sound disappointed about Kian having a girlfriend."She looks to me with the high eyebrow, suspicious look.

"Im not. Its just too bad someone that cute is taken. Anyway, Franny offered to take me shopping tomorrow."

"Oh thats nice, just leave me again while I have to do all the moving and unpacking."

"I'll help you, oh my god."

After we had finished most of the kitchen stuff we decided we should just go to bed. We walked up stairs to our rooms, that were almost completely empty. All that was in my room was one bare mattress, no bed frame, no nothing.

I quickly changed into a large comfy shirt and a pair of pajama shorts because it is 1000 degrees here.Then I grabbed a blanket from downstairs and tried to fall asleep on the most uncomfortable thing ever.

I woke up the next day with a big ache in my back. Great.

While lazily scrolling through instgram and twitter for a while I noticed something. I saw one of my friends had retweeted that "Kian Lawley" had said. I knew when Kian introduced me to Jc , the two names sounded familiar together. Could my new neighbors be those two rowdy boys I know from youtube.

Sure enough when I went on Kian's twitter there were pictures of him and thumbnails from his youtube videos everywhere. Cool. I live next to two famous people.

But why am I so dumb. How could I not have recognized them yesterday? Its not like Im a huge fan of theirs, but I did know who they were.

I mean its not that big of a deal.

After a few more minutes on my phone, I got up and decided to go make breakfast. But wait..theres no food.

"Emilyyyyy! We have to go out to breakfast!" I knew she was awake, because she always wakes up way before I do.

"Ok, I'm already changed so I'll be waiting in the car." She sang while dancing down the stairs.

"You're very chipper this morning." Must of been the FaceTime call from Jake that changed her mood.

I jogged upstairs to my room, and opened my suit case. I chose to wear a loose black shot sleeved shirt with yellow sunflowers all of it and the same pair of denim shorts from yesterday.

I walked back down stairs, with my phone in hand and locked the front door behind me.

After we had been driving around for a while, looking for a little breakfast place we came across one that seemed to be open.

We quickly got seated and looked at our menus because we both hadn't eaten in a while.

"Hey, you know our hot neighbors are famous right?" I casually bring up while still looking to see what to order.

"What?" She asks, putting down her menu to look at me.

"Ya, they're Kian and Jc, like the popular youtubers."

"Oh ya that kind of sounds familiar." Emily tells me, but I know she knows who they are. Ive seen her watch their videos before.

Thankfully, right as that conversation ended our waitress came to our table.

"Ok so do you guys want to start off with some dr- Alex?" Sure enough I knew this girl.

"Oh hey Franny!"
