Carl's P.O.V.

"Rick, we need to talk!" the Governor shouted from the top of a military tank, probably to make himself look more intimidating.

"I don't make the decisions here anymore. There's a council," Dad shouted back at him.

"Is Hershel on the council?" he responded. Just then, Hershel was brought out and put on his knees in front of the tank.

"Daddy," I heard Beth whimper as she held onto the fence.

"What about Michonne?" he continued. Michonne was also brought out and set next to Hershel. "She probably isn't on the council, but we've got another," he smirked. Another person was brought out and set on their knees. I then realized it was Casey.

"Casey!" I cried out. Even from a distance I could tell she was scared. She cowered down next to Michonne.

"Come down here, Rick," the Governor demanded. For the sake of the hostages, Dad walked down the gravel path to the fence.

"Everyone grab a gun and spread out. Carl, come with me," Daryl instructed. I grabbed a rifle and followed Daryl. We found a good spot, and I had the Governor in sight.

I sat impatiently as Dad tried to negotiate. The Governor wanted the prison, but Dad wasn't giving up. This was home, and some of the others were still recovering from the virus. They'd never make it. "I could end this right now," I mumbled.

"Your dad's got this. You gotta trust him," Daryl reasoned, not taking his eyes off of his scope.

"I'm a good shot," I reasoned.

"Yea but you'd be starting something else," he responded.

"That shithead has my girl, he's not getting away with this!" I grunted in frustration. Daryl stayed quiet as I paid attention to the situation once again. The Governor had Michonne's sword up against Hershel's neck, while my finger hovered over the trigger. He slowly pulled it back and mumbled something.

I stood in shock as Hershel fell to the ground, a red slit evident on the side of his neck. That was it for me. I took the first shot, hitting the Governor right in the arm. Dad shot his Python next, and hell broke loose.

Bullets were flying. Grenades were thrown. The fences were run down. Walkers started flooding in. It was madness.

I was separated from Daryl as I went to go find Dad and Casey. I didn't know what happened to her. I lost her in the crossfire. As I walked across the lot, gun ready, two walkers were walking fast towards something. I shot them down, hoping to find someone from my group. As the walkers fell, I saw my Dad. He was limping and holding his right hand. His face was swollen and red, and a dark handprint was evident around his neck. I sighed in relief and ran into his arms.

He hugged me back as he cried in relief. "Wh-where's Judith?" he asked with expectant eyes.

"I don't know, did you see Casey?" I responded. He shook his head. I helped him limp across the lot, and Judith's car seat soon came into sight. We started walking faster towards it, only to find out it was empty and covered in blood. Dad started sobbing next to me as I silently cried. Those monsters took my baby sister.

Growling could be heard from a distance, and I turned to see a walker coming close. I grabbed my rifle and shot it down. I kept shooting until I was out of ammo. Hell, I even kept shooting after that. I was so angry at the world right now. My sister was dead, my girlfriend was gone, and my Dad was half dead already. "Carl!" Dad shouted, grabbing me from behind. I dropped the rifle and started sobbing. "W-we gotta go. We gotta go," he mumbled through his own sobs. I wiped my eyes and Dad wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

As we walked through the trees, I looked back, wishing I would see Casey running up to catch up with us. "Carl... Carl, just keep walking," Dad grunted. I gave up and turned back away from my home and the loved ones I left behind. This was all his fault.
