Another sigh reaches Mason's ears. They had only just reached the store and Ben was already whining to go back home. To shut him up, Mason makes him the designated trolley pusher, which only makes him complain more.

Trailing behind Mason as he walks through the cereal isle, Ben once again sighs in the most exaggerated way.

"Stop it." Mason snips with a stern tone, picking up a box of cocoa pops and chucking it in the trolley.

"But it's so boring! We don't even need this stuff. We came for juice!" Ben drags out, shuffling his feet across the floor like a two-year old.

"Seriously Ben? So, I should put the pepperoni sticks back then?" Mason holds up the paper wrapped parcel, an eyebrow raised.

"No! No, we need those..."

"What about the chips? Should I put them back instead?"

"...No."

Rolling his eyes, Mason continues walking down the aisle while mumbling the cost of the groceries under his breath. Ben may have been the chef, but Mason was in charge of the budget. His roommate didn't have the brain for numbers and that was okay. It gave Mason something to do.

Turning left into the cold aisle, Mason heads straight for the dairy shelf to grab a new carton of milk. Apparently Ben had finished that as well.

Just as he's about to pass the cheese section, he stops. Cream cheese on crackers... now that sounded good.  Without another thought Mason whips open the glass door of the shop refrigerator and grabs a container, smiling as he does so.

"You don't even like cream cheese." Ben grumbles, leaning against the trolley bar.

"Oh shut up." Mason continues their walk through the store, ignoring the glare Ben pins on his back.

When they round another lane, Mason spots the mop of hair that belongs to none other than  Louisa. Dressed in a tank top and a pair of oversized tracksuit pants, she shuffles through the sale section with a shopping basket in the crook of her arm.

"Oi Lu!" Mason calls, lifting a hand for her to notice.

Immediately Louisa heads over, a lazy smile gracing her lips. "Heya Mace. How've you been?"

She gently bumps his hip with hers, as was their usual greeting.

Mason grins, giving her a side hug. "I've been alright. How're you holding up?"

She shrugs, yawning into her hand. She didn't have any of her usual makeup on, and now that she'd walked over, Mason noticed she was still wearing her slippers. "There was a massive party last night. Somehow I managed to wake up in the empty bathtub, but it was good."

Rolling his eyes, Mason lets out a soft chuckle. Of course she would mention another party. The girl never stopped. If Mason remembered correctly, the bathtub wasn't the weirdest place she'd ever woken up in.

"Oh, hey Ben." She waves sluggishly, only now realising he's standing there, slumped over the trolley handle with a pout.

Ben smiles, waving a little. Only for Louisa's eyes to widen and her mouth crack a huge grin,  laughter sparkling in her eyes.

"What happened to your hair? You look... I don't even know! You look like somethin' from the fucking circus!" She laughs, leaning on Mason for support.

Her laughing being contagious, Mason lets out a chuckle too, proud that someone found it just as amusing as he did.

Eventually they stop their laughter, and Mason apologises insincerely  to the appalled looking Ben. He was being a tiny bit mean, but then again, he was totally enjoying an embarrassed Ben.
