This short story was inspired by Liz Braswell's Twisted Tales series, which are dark versions of the Disney movies we all know and love. Rapunzel, although not my favourite princess, is certainly up there with my other favourites. It's hard to pick just one. I have been a massive fan of Disney since I was a kid. I bet you my heart is shaped like Mickey Mouse ears!
I just love stories about the paranormal and ghosts in particular, and I personally think Rapunzel is one of the darker Disney stories out there. She was kidnapped and locked away in a tower, starved of human contact because of her "Mother". She lived by strict rules and obligations, and was alone. Aside from a chameleon, of course.
If you love the original stories of the Disney princesses and don't like them to be tampered with, I suggest you leave now. Imma do a lot of tampering.
This is also the first time I have written anything outside of my blog in a long, long time. It's going to be messy. It won't be perfect. This is just a bit of fun to get me into writing again. A first draft of what I hope is many to come. Constructive criticism is welcomed. Nasty comments, not so much!
I do not give you permission to copy this story. It belongs to me, unless I specifically say otherwise.
With that all being said and done, let's begin...
