Melanie's POV

I am in shock. I can officially say that my best friend is the best. His future girlfriend is in for a real treat, amazing sense of humor and such a gentleman. I truly love him, to pieces.

It's now late, and my mum is watching 'Love Actually' in the living room with my dad. Both cuddling each other, and covered up in the baby pink blanket that the Hood family gave to us 5 years ago. It was a anniversary gift, 10th anniversary to be precise. It has a beautiful blossom tree design on it with white detailing. It is so soft, I could snuggle in it forever.

"Hey, mum, dad? I'm here, if you haven't noticed already.." I whispered. I didn't want to wake any of them up if they weren't awake.

"Sweetie! You're here! We were waiting for you. Go ahead, grab some lasagna and pop into bed. You don't want to be awake all night!" My mum exclaims whilst my dad is watching the movie.

"Alright mum, thanks." I go get some of my mum's homemade lasagna and dig into what I call 'The Best Lasagna Ever'. I know, original. I'm enjoying my meal when I get a text from Calum.

[Hey Mel, my dad is packing. I'm really scared because my mum is starting to pack for herself and Mali. I'm just warning you.. I might show up at your door with a suitcase any day now. Okay, goodnight Melanie xx]

Well. That was unexpected.

I finish eating my meal and then go upstairs to do my night routine; wash off my make up, brush my teeth, shower and then get into my penguin pyjamas. I decide to go back downstairs to kiss my parents goodnight and I guess that was a good choice because Calum's dad was talking to my parents about how much he is going to miss the summer BBQ and the nights where all the adults go for a beer or more.

"Ah, Melanie, love. I just came in to say goodbye." He says, his classic Jack Daniels tee on and his grey sweatpants really show how casual he is now that he has to let his tie and blazer go for the moment. He is packing in those grungy type clothes, but in my mind he would be packing in his suit. He practically lives in his office sometimes. Calum described his office to me, it wasn't that bad to be honest, I thought it would be full of un necessary files and folders and full of pens on the floor that don't even work anymore. Instead, he has a family photo of the Hood family on the beach in summer 2009. Maybe it needs an update...

"Uh, hi. I heard you were already packing? You're going tomorrow afternoon though."

"Yes, that's true. I will have to leave the house at 10:30 or so if I don't want to miss my plane. Wait, has Calum told you everything?" What does he mean by 'everything'?

"No. He just texted me saying that you're packing and that I shouldn't be surprised if he turns up at my doorstep at any time." I'm telling the truth... I still don't understand what 'everything' means.

"Oh,that's fine. Okay Hasbry squad! I have to go now. I will see you at Christmas time. Maybe I will pop in tomorrow morning to say my final goodbye, for now. G'night everyone!" And with that, he leaves the 'Hasbry Squad' in silence.

"Goodnight. See you tomorrow, I guess." I announce. My parents wave me a goodbye and walk into the living room. I go back upstairs, slowly, trying to figure out what 'everything' meant. I jump onto my bed and grab my phone. I have 1 new misses call. Calum. I call and finally he picks up.

"Yes? Why d'you call me?" I whine into the speaker.

"Sorry if I woke you up Mrs.whiny pants. I called because my dad went to visit your parents and I wanted to ask if you talked to him." He said, as if nothing happened.

''Well, uh, yeah. I talked to him. Calum, what does everything mean?''

''Everything? What?'' Of course he knows, he is so bad at lying.

''Calum, don't try lying, again. You need to be honest with me. He asked me if you told me everything''

''Melanie..'' He began.

''I.. everything means. Never mind, it's not a big deal. It's a family problem. As much as I love you, i'm not sure if I can tell you.'' Wow.

''Oh. So, you don't trust me? Thanks Calum.'' And on that note, I hang up. Best friends since we can remember, and he doesn't trust me.

I fall asleep, eventually.
