Warriors Lunar Lullaby

Prolouge

     Moondusk woke to immense pain in her flank. As she moaned in pain, she found the strength to screech, "BRIARWIND, I THINK THE KITS ARE COMING!"
"What!?" The medicine cat scrambled out of her nest as more of her clanmates came to see what was with all of the commotion. "Someone get a sturdy stick, Now!" She said with authority edging her mew. Then without warning, Moondusk's mate, Sunshade barged through the crowd of cats with a stick in his jaws.

     "Moondusk, are you okay?!" He said worry filling his eyes.
"I'm fine" she rasped.
"ALRIGHT, EVERYONE OUT, NOW!" Snapped Briarwind as all of her clanmates filed out of the den. Sunshade stomped up to the medicine cat and growled.
"I'm staying." He meowed firmly.
"Fine, fine, fine." meowed the medicine cat. "Just stay out of my way."
As the cats conversed sarcastically, the first spasm gripped her. "UUUUGHHHH!" Moondusk screeched as she bit down on the stick.

     "Now if you will excuse me, you clingy fishbrain, I have work to do." She said, turning turning to Moondusk. "Okay, just push." She said gently.
Another spasm shivered down her body as a small kit came out. "It's a she-cat." she meowed. "You're doing great, that's one. Now you have two more." She said encouragingly.
"Is she okay?!" Sunshade said worriedly.
"YES, SHE IS ABSOLUTELY FINE! NOW WILL YOU STOP BREATHING DOWN MY NECK?!" Briarwind snapped back at him. "Just go sit over there." She sighed, pointing a claw to a place close enough to see, but far enough for comfort.

     Another spasm gripped her as she bit down on the stick. It began to splinter as the next kit, a silver she-cat slipped out.
"great job!" she encouraged. "Now you have one more, then you're done." Briarwind encouraged.
As she pushed one last time and bit on the stick, it splintered, and broke in half as the final kit had arrived. But something was wrong, it wasn't moving. "Briarwind, something's wrong." The queen gasped. Briarwind checked for a heartbeat and looked up, dismay and sadness filling her eyes. " Moondusk... I'm so sorry." She said, a silent tear welling in her eye. Silence gripped the den for what felt like eternity.
"Moondusk..." Sunshade padded up.

"I will name her Eclipsekit." She said, tears falling to the floor of the den. "I want her to have a name as she joins StarClan." Sadness filled her eyes.
"It is a beautiful name." Briarwind said softly.
As she began to smooth the fur of her deceased kit; she then realized that she had two of her kits squirming next to her. She began to lick them both vigorously. She was silent for a moment.
"Solarkit and Lunarkit." She said out of nowhere. "They are both a kind of eclipse." Continued Moondusk in explanation. "I want them to be close to their sister."
"They are both lovely." Briarwind meowed.
"I will keep you both safe." The queen promised quietly.
